General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans may have seen the beginning of the end when it comes to Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) relationship. Viewers may finally be rid of Liz and Finn’s lackluster romance soon, so something good could come out of Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) demise.
After Liz found out Gregory had passed away, tension erupted over Finn’s decision to drink.
Once Liz spotted the bourbon bottle and the glass that Finn had poured, she urged him to attend a meeting while she took Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) home with her.
Finn lashed out since he felt entitled to ease his pain with alcohol after watching his deceased father get wheeled out of there.
Liz understood that Finn was having a rough time, but her priority was Violet and trying to protect her from a grieving dad who could get drunk in front of her.
Finn basically threw Elizabeth out, so things are already starting to fall apart!
Although Finn ultimately regretted how he treated Liz and decided to attend a meeting, there’ll be a reason for more hostility soon.
Elizabeth confided Finn’s drinking to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), so something tells us that’s going to be a real problem.
There was an ominous vibe to the whole situation since Portia is the co-chief of staff.
Portia worked to reassure Liz like a friend should, but her professional fears may win out in the end and lead to trouble.
If Portia has concerns about Finn drinking on the job at some point, she may confront him and tip him off to Liz’s secret spillage.
It’s clear that GH writers are delivering new sources of conflict that could end in disaster.
Finn may be headed down a troubling road, so Elizabeth won’t be able to help him if he’s not willing to help himself.
Of course, Liz and Finn haven’t proven to be a very popular couple on social media.
That’s partly due to lack of romantic chemistry and partly due to the bad writing they’ve received.
The worst part is that Elizabeth is never really a lead in her storylines with Finn.
The writing tends to be totally Finn-centric and forces Liz to play a supporting role.
Even when Elizabeth had a chance at a big story of her own back in 2022, GH ruined that with the whole Reiko Finn (Mele Ihara) rewrite and couldn’t resist turning it into a Finn story instead.
It feels like it’s time to just drop Finn and Liz’s romance for good, so that may happen now that Finn’s struggling with his sobriety and Elizabeth’s blabbing to his boss.
Gregory’s sendoff was sad, but his tragic outcome could lead to great news – at least for those of us rooting for a Liz and Finn breakup!
We should point out that there have been some hints about a fatal exit for Finn, so the show may take things even further than a romantic split.
Finn may lose his life and leave Elizabeth grieving the loss, but at least she’ll be free from a pairing that’s dragged her down in recent years.
