General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will continue to mull over whether Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is capable of plotting to wipe him off the map. Between that and Sonny’s fears about Jason possibly firing at Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) on the pier, he’s definitely got his guard up.
The writing Sonny got leading up to Jason’s return was actually pretty perfect.
Sonny discovered Nina Corinthos’ (Cynthia Watros) lies and realized Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) had been holding his SEC snitch knowledge over her.
That laid a good foundation of distrust, which only got worse when Sonny found out Michael previously hired Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to take him down.
Then, Sonny learned Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) was in on the cover-up with Michael and that they let Dex continue to work for him.
Since Michael and Carly didn’t think Sonny could handle his own business, he was furious.
The show has been whacking Sonny with betrayal after betrayal, so it’s perhaps not all that far-fetched that he’s doubting Jason now.
If the other betrayals hadn’t happened first, maybe Sonny would have more faith in Jason’s innocence.
Nevertheless, Sonny was written into an angry, suspicious corner where he’s wary of almost everyone – and that includes Jason.
Of course, Jason deserves a chance to face Sonny and share his side of the story.
GH fans know Jason actually saved Sonny’s life – and he’d never do anything to intentionally harm Dante.
Jason needs an opportunity to tell Sonny all that and swear that he’s still loyal.
Fortunately, Jason will indeed get that opportunity after his arraignment during the week of March 25-29.
That’s when Sonny and Jason will finally have a strained meeting, so their reunion should come with plenty of tension and accusations on Sonny’s end.
Sonny will inevitably grill Jason about what the heck is going on, so will he believe Jason once he gets his word that he’s not a traitor?
Even if Jason convinces Sonny that he didn’t turn his back on him in that way, the tension may remain.
There could be things that Jason can’t or won’t tell Sonny regarding his mission – at least not just yet.
Then again, maybe Sonny just won’t think Jason’s situation justifies all the secrets he’s been keeping.
We know John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) blackmailed Jason into a mercenary assignment, but Sonny may not approve of the decisions Jason has made.
Based on our predictions and some behind-the-scenes info, it looks like Jason and Sonny may feel disconnected for a while.
For now, General Hospital spoilers say Sonny will meet with Jason and push for some honest updates, so stay tuned to hear Jason’s news.
