General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, December 24, reveals that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) reunited Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) while Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) sent out an SOS. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) also got some amazing news, so here’s how Wednesday’s episode played out.
At Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) place, he was glad Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) came over for the holiday festivities and expressed gratitude over finding out Gio was his grandson.
Things were still tense between Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), but Gio urged Rocco to maybe cut his dad a break. Sonny also gave Dante some advice about making sure Rocco knew he was there for him.
At Carly’s house, Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) went searching for Christmas ribbon in the attic. Valentin hid out of sight, but Donna noticed the tree he’d been decorating and thought Santa had left it there.
Donny rushed downstairs to tell Carly about the attic Christmas tree, so Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) found out too since he was in the kitchen.
Carly scolded Donna since she wasn’t supposed to go into the attic, but Donna dropped the whole thing once Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) arrived with ribbon as requested.
Brennan didn’t seem to pick up on any signs of trouble since he left and made a phone call about “pulling the trigger” on Britt.
At GH, Britt and Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) agreed to a ceasefire for Christmas. After Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) sent a pic with Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) from the Scorpio holiday gathering, Lucas suggested it was good that her mom was thinking of her.
Britt eventually got updates on her medical license being reinstated, so she was thrilled as she told Lucas and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).
After Britt texted “Mutter” about her medical license reinstatement, Brennan glared at her in the distance.
Back with Carly, she spoke to Valentin in the attic and assured him that Donna wouldn’t come up there again. Valentin was glum about spending Christmas without Charlotte, so it tugged at Carly’s heartstrings a bit.
Once Kristina and Donna joined the gathering at Sonny’s place, Donna mentioned the idea of Gio playing his violin. Gio admitted he didn’t have a new one yet, but Donna suggested he might get one for Christmas.
After Carly’s arrival, Sonny told her that he’d gone in together with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) on a new violin for Gio, but they were waiting until he showed signs that he was ready to receive it.
Over with Charlotte, she gave Rocco a nudge toward patching things up with Dante. Charlotte also discreetly pulled the key from Valentin out of her pocket and had a sad expression as she gazed at it.
Carly noticed, so she pretended she forgot a nativity set at home and asked for Charlotte’s help retrieving it. Soon after, Carly took Charlotte up to her attic, where she had an emotional reunion with Valentin.
At Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) house, Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) hosted a holiday gathering.
Nathan, Liesl, James West (Gary James Fuller), Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) were all there.
Gio also joined the fun after wrapping things up at Sonny’s house. That gave Emma a chance to give Gio a didgeridoo for Christmas in hopes that it’d get him back into music.
Emma wished Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) would’ve called, but she at least got a photo of Anna in a ski outfit that she assumed was from her grandmother. Since Anna was missing the holidays, Emma guessed her WSB mission must be important.
Since James had his heart set on getting a new saddle for Christmas, Cody kept a close eye on the package’s shipping progress online. It was originally supposed to arrive by midnight, but then it got delayed at the distribution center.
Cody put his coat on and was going to retrieve it himself, but then James worried about not visiting Maxie for Christmas. As Cody and Nathan worked to reassure James, it became obvious that Cody’s presence was needed.
Cody sent an SOS to Molly instead, so she drove to the distribution center to get the saddle and helped him avert a James-related crisis.
Since Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) was suspended following her courtroom confession, she packed up the stuff in her office and didn’t have high hopes about her future at GH.
Liz gave Portia a pep talk and invited her over for Christmas later, but Portia thought she needed to be alone. Instead, Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) came to support Portia and walked out of the hospital with her while holding hands.
At Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) place, he got some support from Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) now that they knew about Portia’s affair and the paternity mystery.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) was there to complain about Portia’s actions as well.
Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) also came to the holiday gathering before Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) showed up at the door.
Trina revealed that she’d invited Jordan and ultimately apologized for how she treated her before.
As the show wrapped up with a Christmas Eve montage, Trina sang Silent Night while accompanied by Marshall on the clarinet.
