The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, July 24, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will suffer a gash and face some serious blood loss. Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will race to Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) for help, so let’s talk about all the exciting Y&R action.
After Sharon picks the lock on the storage room door, the burly security guard will be standing there.
Nick will pummel that guard before getting cut on his side in the struggle.
Once Nick knocks the security guard out with a bottle, he’ll try to stand and leave with Sharon.
Nick will ultimately be too weak, so he’ll send Sharon to go get help for him instead.
Meanwhile, Billy will chat with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) in one of the courtyard areas and play up the idea of their partnership.
Cane’s focus will be on the safety of his guests right now, but he’ll plan to get back to Billy later.
After Cane saunters off, Sharon will come racing out in a panic. Once Billy gets news on Nick’s injury, he’ll rush back to the storage room with Sharon.
Nick will be unconscious by then, but Billy will check his pulse and confirm that he’s still alive.
Although Nick will ultimately open his eyes and mutter a bit, he’ll definitely be in bad shape due to all the blood loss.
Billy won’t like Nick’s chances if they don’t get him medical help, but Sharon will point out they’re stranded without any doctors.
Even so, Billy will think they need to find someone with more first aid knowledge or else Nick might not make it.
In Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins Abbott’s (Susan Walters) sleeping car, she’ll sense that something’s bothering him.
Jack will admit Billy is on his mind and wonder if maybe it’s time to cut ties with his brother.
Diane will have a hard time believing Jack could just walk away, but Jack will worry that he’s hindering Billy from finding his own path.
Jack is always there to rescue Billy, so he’ll fear that he’s become an enabler.
Next, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will track down Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and insist she really was feeling vulnerable over Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) when she got caught up in the moment.
Kyle won’t believe that and will point out that he already gave Victor updates on Audra’s failed part in the plan.
Audra will continue to deny that there was a seduction scheme and will think Kyle just made things worse for himself with Victor.
Audra will eventually spin things around on Kyle and point out that he almost cheated on Claire Newman (Hayley Erin).
It’ll leave Audra taunting Kyle over whether he’s good enough for Claire, but Kyle will stand by his devotion to her.
Nevertheless, Audra will hint about Kyle messing with the wrong person and basically warn that she’ll be dangerous if she’s got nothing left to lose.
On the train, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will interrogate Carter (Vincent Stalba).
That’ll bring some talk about how Carter’s story doesn’t fit with the groundskeeper’s.
Carter will be asked if he knew about Cane plotting to kill Damian or if he might’ve covered for his boss after finding out a crime was committed.
Although Carter will admit “Mr. Dumas” saved him from poverty and that he’d do anything for him, he’ll insist he’s innocent – and he’ll defend Cane’s innocence, too.
Carter will act like Nick’s the one who needs to be questioned, but Victor will claim someone saw Carter with the bloody knife when he planted it in Nick’s sleeping car.
After Carter denies it, he’ll accidentally let something slip about the knife being under the sink. Since Chance and Victor never said anything about the knife being in that exact location, Carter will certainly look guilty.
Victor and Chance will realize that either someone told Carter the knife was there or he put it there himself to frame Nick.
“Which is it?” Cane will ask as he pops up and pushes to speak with Carter alone.
Victor will assume Cane wants to get their stories straight, but Cane will insist he wants to find out who the real killer is.
