Marissa came from money. Her parents are well-off. It affected her first marriage and so her ex warned Edward about it because someone had to think about the man.
He didn’t want his former in-laws to look down on Edward as they did him. Edward previously met them overseas, but they were in vacation mode. There was no one on one.
The focus was on making the boys feel alright and so tonight was the first time for both sides to get to know the other. Marissa went into the night worried. And for good reason.
Marissa’s mom was very picky. She didn’t think the age difference on top of the cultural difference was going to lend itself to a happy marriage. She also considered it a red flag that Edward doesn’t have a plan for a career in the United States.
Which is fair. She just wasn’t considering that he can’t work until he gets further along in the visa process and so the most they could do was try to get him to repeat whatever he was doing back in the Dominican Republic. They also can’t start breathing down his neck the first two weeks he’s been there.
Sometimes the stress gets to the couple. Debby loved Mido. Does Mido love Debby? It doesn’t seem like he does. It appears as if he came to the United States solely to launch his acting career worldwide.
He was a star in Egypt and he wanted to be a star in the US. He agreed to marry Debby because it got it closer to his goal. His blatant disrespect of her might’ve cost him that dream tonight.
He couldn’t give Debby the reassurance she needed. He claimed that he hadn’t been sexual active without anyone because he was waiting on marriage before he handed away his virginity.
That part might not even be true because there were so many photos about. He was getting close to beautiful as well as younger women in Egypt. He claimed they were merely fans. Only he failed to see that he hasn’t given Debby that same kind of intimacy. He doesn’t rush to hug her. He doesn’t really kiss her.
She often has to take the lead if she wants any kind of affection and he doesn’t mention their wedding or marriage as much as he does about heading to LA. He treated her more like a fan than the fans he had back home.
No wonder Debby thinks he was lying about being a virgin. Annabelle was herself learning she traveled all the way to the US just to find out her fiancé Shea was cheating on her.
Though to be fair to Shea’s friends, they didn’t try to hide it from her. They told her that Shea was acting very single up to a year ago. The couple has been together for four to five years.
He also recently cheated and his ex knew about it. The woman told Shea to come clean or she’d tell Annabelle herself. It’s the only reason Annabelle knew about it. It was because someone forced his hand.
Annabelle had her chance in the end. She could’ve left. She chose to stay and forgive Shea. She also gave him rules. They were going to work out together. She wants him to get better and lose some weight. Annabelle said she was tired of being on the top. She has to do all the work. Shea then said that he prefers it that way.
Well, it was coming to an end soon. She had Shea doing yoga with her. She wants him to live as long as possible and so they were doing things her way from now on out. Shea seemed fine with that at first. His loved ones might end up feeling differently.
Speaking of cheating, why is Josh with the cheating queen named Catie? Catie’s birthday was coming up. She wanted to celebrate it in the bar and that was the worst idea she could possibly have. She gets messy once she’s had a few. She was inviting her friend Ryan to hang out with them. She traveled throughout Europe with Ryan.
They didn’t sleep together. The most they did was make out. Josh was there for two out of the four times that Catie has admitted to. And you’d think that would make Catie realize she needs to stop drinking around this particular friend.
Their situation was a tad better than Ashia and Maxwell. Ashia traveled with her mom to Nigeria. She’s been talking this man up and down about how much she loves him when truthfully she wants to change almost everything about him.
She wanted him to change his hair, his face, and seems more like she wants to make him into someone she loves rather than let him be someone she loves.
Ashia was coming across as very shallow. This could be why nothing was working out. He was denied a K-1 visa. Them getting married might not solve the issue either.
The universe was telling them they weren’t meant to be. The same way it was doing to Josh and Catie. Catie said she doesn’t like living with people. Then why get Josh to move to the US. Catie seemed all over the place.
She doesn’t have her life put together. She wants Josh to do all the work and expressed no remorse for her situationship with her friend. Catie claimed it happened during her messy era. The poor woman doesn’t realize she’s still in that era. Josh tried to talk to her about Ryan and she pretended to listen when odds are she didn’t hear a word he said.
The same way Debby didn’t want to hear her friends’ concerns about Mido. Mido told her to shut her mouth in front of them. He demanded that she respect him all the while never showing an ounce of the same respect back.
Her friends hated the way Mido treated her. He hadn’t been there for a week when he began yelling at her for taking a photo over a video of him. He wanted to share a video with his fanbase. Keep them interested. He tends to see Debby as a fan and not as a wife or even a girlfriend.
Then there was Thomas. Thomas was showing a little bit of a red flag. His fiancé Paola was finally living with him and he didn’t prepare for her in any way. He didn’t get furniture. He didn’t make room for her in his closet. Paola was willing to ignore it until he glued her perfume bottle shut. Thomas said he was allergic and that he was supposedly breaking out in hives when she used her perfume
. It was odd because Paola pointed out she wasn’t the only person wearing perfume. They hang out with others that wear it. It was never a problem for him before.
Also, why couldn’t he just talk to her about it. The same way that Paola was insisting on a dresser and chesser just so she could fit her clothes somewhere. She didn’t throw everything in his closet out to make room for herself. There was no need to glue her perfume shut. Paola didn’t have a credit card in her name.
Thomas gave her his credit card and she had to practically pull it out of his hands because he hadn’t wanted to let go. He said that all the bills get paid on that card. He didn’t want her going overboard buying what she needs.
Why couldn’t he have just bought the things himself? Like she asked him to do on her last visit. Paola told him that she needed a dining table and a couch and places to put her clothes.
He got those paper drawers for the floor. He didn’t even get the standing fabric dresser. He got the pieces over the full thing. He doesn’t get to tell her not to spend money when he could’ve solved the matter on his own. The same goes for Catie. Catie insisted on inviting Ryan and Ryan basically called her out in front of Josh saying that she doesn’t know what she wants.
Edward meanwhile gave an honest answer to Marissa’s mom. It just wasn’t the one Marissa was looking for and now she’s back to treating him like a kid.
