Beyond the Gates (BTG) spoilers suggest that after much anticipation, soap veteran Ashley Jones finally made her shocking debut as “The Impaler” during the Monday, June 8 episode.
The identity of the crime lord behind the red market plasma ring has had fans buzzing with speculation for months.
Interestingly enough, when news broke back in April that Jones was joining the BTG cast, the CBS soap remained hush-hush about the role the actress would play.
Jones has held daytime drama roles on The Bold and the Beautiful (Bridget Forrester), The Young and the Restless (Megan Dennison), and General Hospital (Parker Forsyth).
In an extra twist, Jones isn’t only “The Impaler” on canvas; she’s Heather Armstrong, Joey Armstrong’s (Jon Lindstrom) little sister.
Joey was slated to meet “The Impaler” on the Friday, June 5 episode, and came face-to-face with them at the close of the show.
Fans could tell that Joey recognized the person as soon as the door opened, and his reaction became the Friday cliff-hanger.
When the June 8 episode opened, a female walked in, wearing a cloak to hide her face. Joey asked if she was there as The Impaler’s representative, right-hand woman, or partner.
Of course, the woman changed the subject. It was clear when the siblings embraced, and Heather referred to Joey as her brother, who Jones was playing.
After all, Joey’s sister Heather had been mentioned in storylines for weeks.
As Heather updated Joey that she was living in London, and he pressed her link to The Impaler, she finally stated, “Oh, my dear brother. I am The Impaler.”
At first, Joey laughed and fluffed off the claim, which offended his little sis. It took some moments for Joey to realize that Heather wasn’t bluffing.
Interestingly enough, Heather has built an empire that Joey (and their deceased father) would be proud of.
In even more of a plot twist, Joey refrained from telling Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) the truth.
While he did reveal that he saw his sister, he did not tell his blonde gal pal that she was “The Impaler”.
Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest that life in Fairmont Crest is about to get even that much more interesting with Heather Armstrong in town, so fans will have to continue to tune into the soap to see what happens next.
