In tonight’s Chicago P.D. episode, Detective Imani chose to do the right thing. She didn’t bury the evidence against her sister. She made it public. Her sister was now in a correction’s facility and Imani often visits her.

Shari still needs support. She was a child trafficking victim that developed Stockholm Syndrome for her kidnapper. She also got heavily into drugs. She needed therapy. She needed to detox. None of which was something prison was best known for. It’s why she was constantly visiting. She was returning to work after one visit when she came upon a shooting.

Two people were down. There was a female victim that might’ve gotten hit by a stray because she was across the street. The other was guy and he was a probation officer.

It was reasoned that he was the intended target. They weren’t wrong. The evidence backed it up. The probation officer’s name is Frank Lidell. He was meeting up with one of his parolees. The other guy was Chris Maron. It was his car seen speeding away from the shooting. They put out a BOLO for his car. They tracked him down once before they he disappeared into a rec center.

They had no clue where he was or what he might up to. They did know why he shot his PO. Frank survived his injuries. He didn’t remember the shooting, but he does remember meeting up with Maron because he suspected Maron was using again. It was against his parole.

Maron robbed a store high on drugs and killed the owner. He was sentenced to twenty years. He served ten before being released for good behavior. Frank merely suspected he was back on drugs. He couldn’t prove it because Maron has been consistently testing negative on the random drug test.

Only he knew that something was off. His experience told him that much. He said so to the cops. They were doing everything they could to find Maron and they started with his friends. They found the guy who helps get ex-cons jobs. Santos was still doing that. He said his guys are good people.

He also added that Maron couldn’t be guilty of what he claimed. Maron was dependable. Santos let the man babysit his grandson. There was something about Lidell’s assessment that wasn’t adding up. The police kept looking for Maron and they determined he was in communication with Fritzy Kerman.

Fritzy was another parolee. She was one of Lidell’s parole. Yet, he never mentioned her. She and Maron appeared to be quite close. Their photos are hung up on all over her house. The cops stopped by there to find out someone gave Fritzy a hotshot. She fought with the person before they did. She later died of her injuries. Imani doesn’t think the man that killed Fritzy was Maron. She didn’t think he’d turn against a friend for not helping get away with shooting two people. There was also the gun. Why didn’t he kill Fritzy with the gun? He gave her a hotshot.

It was like the killer was hoping to mask her death. The hotshot forced into her system was over seventy percent rat poison. No drug dealer would ever be stupid enough to cut their product with that much poison. It would be killing off their clientele. Shari kept feeling like the evidence wasn’t adding up and her sister’s case wasn’t helping. Shari got a pretty good plea deal. It just didn’t matter to her because she’s depressed. She’s in prison. She didn’t want to be abused again so she purposely started a fight and ended up in the hospital.

Shari was going to be alright. Imani said she refused to give up on her. She firmly believes her sister can leave prison and turn her life around. She checked into Maron. He did every program in prison. He got sober. He tried to make amends with the victim’s family. He did everything right. Imani knew he wouldn’t have killed Fritzy. They later found Maron. They arrested him for the murders. Maron lawyered up once he heard that Fritzy was dead. Her death had come as a shock to him. He truly didn’t kill her.

He shot Frank. The question everyone should’ve been asking was why. They just took Frank at his word because he was in their line of work. He was the killer after all. Maron didn’t intend to shoot anyone. He was fighting back. He eventually admitted that Frank Lidell is a rapist. He found out Fritzy broke sobriety. He was supposed to report her, but he knew she didn’t want to go back to prison so he coerced her into sex. It wasn’t just once. The man was a pest. He took advantage of a lot of female ex-cons.

The cops tracked down their killer. The one responsible for everything. Frank was arrested and his actions that day might affect what happens to Maron. There was one issue. Their office has been flooded with a bunch of people from a shut down office. They were all being demoted to beat cop to save money. Voight was also getting an FBI Agent planted in his office to oversee his unit. It will be determined if Intelligence was cost-effective or not. This comes right as Detective Kevin Atwater was becoming a father for the first time.

She went into labor tonight and a new baby might change how he sees his future.

And Shari removed her sister’s visiting privileges because she no longer wishes to see her.

THE END!
