In tonight’s Fire Country episode, Chloe has been through a lot. Her son was facing serious trouble. She was constantly dealing with stuff involving his case or his lawyer so Bode thought she needed a break. Bode practically dragged her to the rodeo with him.
They went there together. Jake went with his girlfriend. Eve was beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. Especially once she heard that Jake was looking at a house with Violet. They wanted more space. They’ve outgrown their apartments. They couldn’t really afford a house and so they were hoping on Violet’s sign on bonus.
Violet was in the running for a job at a law firm that represents CalFire. Jake may have called them afterwards to put in a good word. He thought he was being a great boyfriend. The whole friend group thought otherwise. The same goes for Violet.
Chloe said he was being sweet until Violet pointed out that her possible employer now knows her boyfriend was a client. It was bad and the rodeo made up for it. The rodeo put on a great show. They always do. The star of the show was a rodeo cowboy, Buck Benson.
He was an old friend of Bode’s. He also knew Chloe back in high school too. Chloe ended up running into her ex, Landon. Landon verbally abused her son to the point he set the fire that burned down half the town. He was bad news. She dumped him before her son was arrested.
Though its clear he’s still bitter. He didn’t like that Bode was protecting her either. Landon kept telling Bode that Chloe wasn’t worth the trouble. He was clearly jealous and he has a reason to be because literally everyone thought he was dating Chloe.
Sharon was upset with Bode because of it. They’ve been avoiding the topic since he took in Chloe and Tyler. The rodeo was where it all came out. Landon was being his jerky self by demanding Bode drink a beer with him and he refused to believe that Bode doesn’t drink.
Bode pushed him off for getting too close. Landon pushed one gate to another. The sounded alone triggered the broncos. They began a stampede. The crowd ran for safety. This included a mother and son that Sharon helps every year at the rodeo.
The son’s name is Nelson. Nelson keeps trying to ride the animals. It had been a sheep this year. His mother takes her eyes off him for a minute and suddenly he injures his hand. Well, the two got separated during the stampede. The ranchers got the horses back under control.
Most of them anyways. Eve’s father had a horse in the running that took off with her cousin still onboard. They found her cousin with a broken arm. He was going to be fine, but it was important that they find the horse and sell it.
Eve didn’t want to sell the horse. She delivered her with her two hands. She named her LJ. Its short for Lucky Junior and being there for that horse helped her to be there for her father again. Eve wouldn’t sell. Not until George told her that insurance wouldn’t cover her father’s glaucoma surgery.
They needed to sell that horse to raise the money. Eve hunted for that horse. She later found it with Jake. The horse had gone through a small wooden bridge. It was trapped in the remains of it and was freaking out.
Eve helped calm the horse. They realized that they needed more help to free it. They called for Bode who had gotten into a fight with his mother about Nelson’s mom.
She blamed it on him. She said he should never have brought Chloe. Their uneasy truce about his living situation has now been broken open. Sharon didn’t want the mother or their son to be a part of their lives. It was because of Tyler that her husband was dead. Sharon had a lot of anger and she was pushing it out at the wrong person.
Bode said it wasn’t him that started things. It was Landon. Landon keeps ruining so many lives and walking away like it was normal. Bode had to leave to get LJ out. They freed the horse. He could still be sold. Only cousin George couldn’t handle Elroy’s ranch with a broken arm.
It was therefore up to Eve to run it while George heals. Landon was still hanging around and he was blaming everything that happened on Bode as well as Chloe. Sharon finally had enough and she lashed out at the right person this time.
Sharon took Landon to task in front of everyone. She laid the blame on a young boy almost losing a mother on him. Though funnily enough that medical call helped Manny impress a doctor, but yeah Landon couldn’t talk once Sharon brought up the surveillance system.
It put Chloe at ease. Bode finally made his move with her and he kissed her after so many times thinking about it in high school.
But there was bad news for Violet. She got the job only they want her to end her conflict of interest – her relationship with Jake.
THE END!
