General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) posted a message from Billy Miller (ex-Drew Cain) that was given to her a few years ago after his exit from GH.
Monaco shared the farewell letter on Instagram and the story behind it on Miller’s “heavenly birthday,” so let’s talk about her heartfelt words.
Kelly Monaco obviously had a special bond with Billy Miller, who died back in 2023.
Miller was a familiar face in the soap world, where he gained plenty of fans through his roles on multiple daytime dramas.
Miller portrayed Richie Novak on All My Children before he joined The Young and the Restless in the part of Billy Abbott.
The popular actor eventually headed to GH, where he played a Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) recast until it was revealed he was actually Jason’s twin, Drew Cain.
Monaco tagged those shows in her post along with The Bold and the Beautiful, Beyond the Gates and Days of Our Lives.
It’s clear that Monaco hoped to get the word out about Miller’s message and what the beloved soap star wanted people to know about goodbyes.
“It’s Billy Millers Heavenly birthday,” Monaco said.
“He sent me this a few years ago, after he left @generalhospitalabc wanting me to post it.. I didn’t. But… I know he wanted anyone who’s ever supported his work and or got to know him as a friend, to read this letter. He is a gift that keeps giving.”
Kelly Monaco posted a pic of the letter, which contained some lovely thoughts from Billy Miller about the topic of goodbye and what it really means.
Miller suggested that “maybe goodbye is really a remembrance of love felt, an appreciation for lives shared, and the lifelong reminisces that come from embraces given and received.”
After sharing more on the meaning of farewell, Miller talked about how grateful he was for all the support he’d been given and the journey that he’d gone on with fans.
“I would be remiss in this crazy, unpredictable world we all love so much if I did not hold out the possibility that maybe our GOODBYE is reallya [sic]….UNTIL NEXT TIME,” Miller said as he concluded the letter.
Miller’s goodbye is even more bittersweet following his death, but Monaco is keeping his memory alive and celebrating his birthday by sharing what he wanted everyone to know.
