General Hospital Spoilers: Cullum’s Death Confirmed, Andrew Hawkes Speaks Out After Villain’s Fatal Exit

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that after wounded Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) crawled over to a gun and fired a stunning shot at Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), his six-month run came to a bloody conclusion.

Cullum’s luck finally ran out in the July 2 episode, which brought a fatal outcome for the villain.

Of course, when “Z” (John Oliver) came marching on the scene, he didn’t bother to check and see if Cullum was still breathing.

That left some fans with doubts about whether Cullum was truly gone for good.

However, SOD confirmed Cullum’s death and spoke to Andrew Hawkes for an exit interview.

Although Hawkes was sad to see his GH stint come to an end, he knew Cullum wasn’t the kind of character who lasts indefinitely.

Hawkes initially signed on for three episodes, but the role kept expanding and wound up stretching into about 40 episodes according to the departing actor.

Although Hawkes called his deadly exit “inevitable,” he gushed over what an awesome experience it was working on the show.

The highlight for Hawkes was definitely getting to know the cast and crew.

Hawkes had nothing but kind things to say about his co-stars as well as everyone who works behind the scenes to make the show possible.

As for how Cullum exited, Hawkes definitely seems grateful that he was able to go out with a bang!

“It was an epic sendoff, without a doubt,” Hawkes insisted.

Since Andrew Hawkes found the work he did on GH so fulfilling, it was hard wrapping it up.

Hawkes admitted he would’ve liked to have stuck around, but he obviously understood that wasn’t meant to be considering Cullum’s story arc.

That said, if there’s ever an opportunity for Hawkes to return as Cullum’s ghost or even a brand-new character, he’ll jump at the chance to make it happen.

“I’d say yes in a heartbeat,” Hawkes said.

There might be some scenario where Hawkes could make a comeback down the road, but fans can say goodbye for now since Cullum is truly dead and gone.

General Hospital spoilers say the news of Cullum’s demise will come as a shock to plenty of Port Charles residents, so stay tuned.
