General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) could potentially have some life-changing news in her future.
Let’s talk about some intriguing scenes that could point to some pregnancy drama for Emma.
In the May 7 episode, Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) filled in for Dr. Frida Navarro (Christina Ferraro) during Emma’s annual gynecological exam.
Emma clearly wasn’t thrilled about the switch at first, considering her negative history with Britt.
However, Emma ultimately relented and made it through the awkward visit.
Britt even managed to be helpful by switching Emma to a new birth control medication since the one she’s been taking gives her headaches.
Emma scheduled a follow-up appointment to monitor how that change works out for her.
Since Britt prescribed the new medication, Emma suggested coming back to see her instead of Dr. Navarro.
On the surface, these scenes felt like the GH writers’ way of easing the long-time tension between Britt and Emma.
It seemed like Emma saw another side of Britt, so this could be a path to her becoming more tolerant of the doc.
That said, there’s also a chance this could pave the way for a soapy baby shocker. Britt cracked a joke that could be a clue about what’s ahead.
“Well, if it doesn’t work, you can complain about me to my face,” Britt said with a chuckle.
Of course, Britt presumably meant if the headaches persist, but what if Emma’s birth control fails altogether?
If Emma botches the pill transition somehow, that could affect things in a major way!
Birth control isn’t 100 percent effective anyway, so that’s something soaps love to use to their advantage.
Emma may simply face a twist of fate and end up pregnant, but you can bet she’ll blame Britt if she does.
Emma may think the new birth control prescription is the problem, even if the switch isn’t necessarily the problem.
Regardless, all that talk about changing Emma’s birth control was interesting, especially since Britt flat-out invited Emma to complain to her face if it doesn’t work.
Emma might do exactly that if she gets pregnant, so we’ll see if she winds up with Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri’s (Giovanni Mazza) bun in the oven.
