General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show just laid the groundwork for an important Cassadine family member to resurface.
A new GH storyline has kicked off that definitely needs this particular Cassadine’s presence in Port Charles.
Now that Heather Webber (Alley Mills) is back in PC, she’s hoping to reconnect with Ace Cassadine (last played by Karis and Kieran Barry).
Heather has been gushing over her Wyndmere purchase since she thinks an island mansion is the perfect place for her “darling little Ace” to grow up.
Although Heather also wants to make amends to some of the people she’s hurt, Ace is a big part of why she returned.
Heather found out Ace was in Ireland with Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom), so her reunion with her grandson has been delayed.
However, it’s just a matter of time until Ace comes home and reconnects with Grandma Heather.
The storyline has been set up for Heather to finally see Ace again and try to be part of his life.
Once Genie Francis returns from her break, Laura can bring Ace back to PC for this story.
Of course, Laura may be just as wary as Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was when she found out about Heather’s return and Spoon Island purchase.
The November 3 episode brought some conflicting dialogue that left fans confused about how old Ace might be when he reappears.
Many viewers latched onto Anna’s line about how Ace was “going to be a teenager soon,” but some other lines didn’t fit with that.
Anna also noted that it’d be 15 years or so before Ace would come of age to inherit Spoon Island and Wyndemere like Heather suggested.
That seemingly fits with Ace’s actual age since he was born in 2023.
There was also talk about babysitting and how Ace was young enough that he wouldn’t realize people were badmouthing his psycho grandmother, at least according to Heather.
Anna’s teenager comment may have just been her trying everything she could think of to talk Heather out of staying in Port Charles.
Since Anna was spinning every excuse possible, she implied that Heather’s presence would make it hard on Ace once he hit his teen years.
All the other dialogue in those scenes suggested that Ace was still a kid, so we’ll see how things turn out down the road.
It’s possible the show could rapidly age Ace and suddenly make him a teen, but it sounds more like he’ll still be a child when he returns.
Regardless, it’d be a letdown if Heather came home primarily for Ace and didn’t get to see him at all!
The show will hopefully fix that eventually and let Ace pop back up for an awkward grandma reconnection.
