Two characters will face some breakup threats, but we should also consider the possibility of an unexpected marriage proposal that would send shockwaves through Port Charles.
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) found a surprise connection through his time as a fugitive under her roof.
Valentin and Carly slowly got to know each other, which led to a deepening connection and the start of a love story.
When Valentin was forced to head for Geneva so he could spill everything to Z (John Oliver), Carly feared she might never see him again.
Now Valentin is a free man thanks to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), but Joss only arranged that to make sure Carly wouldn’t go down for any fugitive-related crimes.
However, Josslyn suspects that with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) back in town, Valentin will reconnect with her and fixate like he’s done in the past.
That could drive a wedge between Carly and Valentin, so Josslyn predicts it’ll cause a breakup.
Of course, we’ve also got Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) rooting for Valentin and Carly to split.
GH spoilers say Sonny will take matters into his own hands this summer when he recruits Brick (Stephen A. Smith) to help him tear Carly and Valentin apart.
Plus, there’s Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), who clearly doesn’t approve of Valentin and Carly’s romance.
It’ll be interesting to see how far Lulu might go to blow up Carly and Valentin as well.
In other words, Valentin and Carly will have more obstacles thrown at them, so they can either crumble like their saboteurs want or thrive as a couple against all odds.
Let’s consider for a moment that Carly and Valentin might rise above the challenges ahead.
What if instead of breaking up, Valentin ends up popping the question? Could Valentin actually be marriage material for Carly?
Time will tell, but there’s no doubt that Valentin’s marriage proposal to Carly would rock Port Charles in a big way!
