General Hospital (GH) recap for Tuesday, January 6, reveals that tricked Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) betrayed Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) on the stand while Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) got a ringtone clue.
In court, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) got Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) to testify that she was indeed with Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) at the time of the shooting.
Once Tracy was on the stand, Suzanne (Jen Ray) brought Alexis a folder and a flash drive.
After Suzanne whispered about the footage and stills from the footage, Alexis questioned Tracy while holding the folder.
Since the folder said “Personal Home Security Footage” for Crestview Lane, Tracy assumed Alexis had footage of Michael on Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) street the night of the shooting.
As a result, Tracy reluctantly confessed that she’d indeed seen Michael there, so Alexis had no further questions.
ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) did some damage control by getting Tracy to acknowledge how dark it was outside that night.
After Michael took the stand next, he was forced to admit he was on Drew’s street – though he was adamant that he didn’t go inside Drew’s house.
Michael also confirmed he had access to the weapon, but he insisted he didn’t shoot Drew.
Once Michael explained that he contemplated talking to Drew about staying away so Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) could see the kids, he ultimately realized it was pointless.
Michael talked about getting a phone call from Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and hearing his son’s special ringtone before getting back in his car.
Trina and Kai discussed that detail privately, so they came to the conclusion that Michael’s ringtone must’ve been the one they heard.
Kai and Trina assumed Michael lied about not being in the house, so they settled on him as their top shooter suspect.
In Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) attic, she shut down the idea that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) would go as far as kidnapping Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) to get to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), but Valentin knew Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was capable of that.
However, Valentin acknowledged the possibility that Sidwell could be useful in exposing Brennan and clearing his own name.
Carly insisted Valentin needed to stay put instead of running off without a plan.
At Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) place, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) let her know Charlotte wasn’t at her after-school drama club meeting and went to the Quartermaine mansion instead.
Lulu and Nathan confronted Charlotte, who was able to keep a lid on the Valentin part of the story.
Charlotte played it like she just wanted to chill with Danny while getting a break from her police babysitter.
Afterward on Tuesday’s GH episode, Charlotte texted Danny to thank him for his help earlier.
Danny replied with reassurance about finding a way to help Valentin.
Once Tracy showed up to see Lulu, she ranted about having to make Michael look guilty in court.
As Lulu asked questions, she helped Tracy realize Alexis played her using the labeled folder and that she presumably didn’t have footage at all.
Back with Alexis, she was grateful to Suzanne for her part in duping Tracy and getting her to admit Michael was on Drew’s street that night.
As for Drew, he worked to convince Willow that Alexis had provided more than enough reasonable doubt for the jury.
Once Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) testified, Alexis got her to admit she left Michael alone in her house before the cops arrived to search Willow’s belongings for the gun.
At the PCPD, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) returned to sign an urgent warrant and vented to Nathan about not knowing about the apparent footage of Michael.
Dante reflected on his past guilt over Michael’s prison trauma and worried he hadn’t handled the current case correctly as a result.
Nathan mentioned a cigarette butt that needed to be entered into evidence from another crime scene.
Since Nathan left it in his car while talking to Lulu, Dante scolded him for breaking the chain of custody.
Nathan was apologetic and suggested he was just rusty when it came to detective protocol.
Although Dante felt that suspending Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) was the right call, he considered the possibility that Chase was right about Michael setting up Willow.
