General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that many fans are eager to see Steve Burton step back into the role of Jason Morgan following his hiatus.
After Burton’s decision to exit the show for a bit, his name disappeared from the contract list in the closing credits back in April.
Thankfully, Burton has promised that he’ll resume filming this June at the ABC soap.
It won’t be long until Jason is back in action, so that’s something plenty of viewers are looking forward to.
Based on Steve Burton’s comments in a recent episode of his That’s Awesome podcast with Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), it sounds like he’ll be returning on contract.
Burton and Anderson took a fan question about how far in advance GH actors know their schedules.
That led to Anderson and Burton comparing notes about the differences in how things work for them since Anderson’s been on recurring for many years.
“For you, it’s different than it is a contract person…” Burton said to Anderson at one point in the podcast.
Of course, Burton was still acting like a contract player as he shared his perspective on what that’s like.
The GH star seemingly confirmed his contract status ahead of Jason’s return, so that’s certainly good news.
That presumably means that when Burton finally makes it back on-screen this summer, his name will reappear in the contract section of the closing credits.
Burton offered no indication that he’d be a recurring player instead, so it seems he’ll have a new contract locked in when he makes his next appearance as Jason.
A lot has been happening in Port Charles since the WSB hauled Jason away.
Jason is currently stuck at some black site in Jakarta, where he’s no doubt living under difficult conditions as a WSB prisoner.
However, Jason will ultimately make a grand reentrance to the canvas.
