In tonight’s Line Of Fire episode, Logan Welling was an undercover CIA Operative. He had never been a boring history teacher. He might not even have been interested in Clare. He might’ve gotten closer to her for a case. It doesn’t really matter why he was sleeping with her. It just that it left Clare feeling like a fool.

She needed to know the why. She reached out to Agent Wallace. She remembered stories that Logan told her about growing up in North Carolina and a part of her suspected those might’ve been the actual truth. Or something close to it as he could give.

Wallace said she couldn’t follow up the leads. She had been warned to stop investigating Logan’s attack with the others. His CIA file was sealed. She didn’t have the security clearance to access it, but that wasn’t what Clare wanted to hear.

She demanded that Wallace keep digging. She also hadn’t been afraid to threaten her with her career if she didn’t help. Clare had to know one way or another about why Logan was sleeping with her. Her mother overheard the conversation because it happened right outside of the family home.

Jane just couldn’t tell her about Jack’s involvement. Jack went deep undercover. His parents taught him to serve his country and they were now holding onto that fact more than ever.

They didn’t want to believe that Jack went rouge in killing agents. They were hoping he didn’t kill those people and was being set up or that he did so under orders. The agents he killed were considered dirty. Logan was sleeping with his sister. It made sense that Jack would step in now with him. What didn’t make sense was the clues he was leaving behind at the scene.

The little swans was sloppy at best. Jack was another mission infiltrating a dental office when Jane got info from Wallace. It happened by accident on Wallace’s part. She was followed to her office and Jane took a photo of her whiteboard before Wallace could close the door in her face. It was very crafty.

Its also why Wallace didn’t reveal any new information until she was sure of her next steps. She found out Logan’s real name is Jason Marks. He disappeared from a North Carolina town several months back. The sheriff recognized his face because he was reported missing. Who reported him?

Wallace was finding that out. Clare was working a case that involved both her mother and her younger brother, Russ. There’s been a death on a jury. A juror was accidentally killed after a man broke into her house to threaten her. He wanted her to leave the jury. He tried bribes. He bribed four people off the jury.

He upped his game to intimidation recently. Why? Clare easily found the man making the threats. He had been hired by the roommate of the stenographer. The poor stenographer revealed that she thought she was talking crap about work. She didn’t know she was being used.

Neither did Jane’s senator boyfriend. He came by the house for a dinner date. Jane told him that she couldn’t make it because she has to work late into the night. She also hadn’t known her house would be full. Clare was staying at the house to feel safe and she was still working the jury case. She brought in Russ by using his credentials to pull up case files the grand jury had heard. Russ stopped by with his new girlfriend, Natasha. Natasha was lovely. She comes from a family of lawyers so she was fine offering to help. Clare also brought in Micah to help.

Jane’s assistant stopped by the house to drop off files for her. Clare roped her into helping. This included Marsha’s boyfriend who had been waiting outside in the car.

It turns out Marsha was dropping off files that Jane used her boyfriend’s credentials to get. There was even a rumor about it in DC. Terry had heard the rumors. He felt bad for the sucker senator. Until he realized he was the sucker. They decided to pause the relationship afterwards. They definitely paused the whole moving in together.

Fair. Jane was still sleeping with her ex-husband. The same man that also stopped by the house to help Clare with her case. She finally found the connection.

There was a shady businessman trying to cover up buying properties with cartel money and claiming it under China’s name. It was from two different trials that the grand jury heard. Its why they suddenly changed tactics. They were worried that the DOJ would piece it together. The family got a judge to sign off and they opened an official investigation into the businessman.

Clare closed her. Russ finally got taken off of probation. Micah and his dad were forced to work through their difficult working relationship. Which reminded Mike that he needed to treat his agents like people. He’s been pushing them too hard at work.

Wallace also determined that Jack was merely another alias. Logan had been using it as a cover with a woman he had been faked dating at the time. The same thing he did with Clare. Clare now knows she wasn’t the only one, but Wallace saw one of the little creatures at the house and connected it to a crime scene. She went about her day not knowing that Jack was working next door. Or that he’s been following her.

THE END!
