The Young and the Restless (Y&R) update for Monday, August 24, indicates that a fierce rivalry will be on full display again.
Family ties will also come into play and lead to one Genoa City resident picking a firm side in the fight for Chancellor.
At the coffeehouse, Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) will serve as Holden Novak’s (Nathan Owens) confidant and offer advice once he fills her in on Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) job offer.
Holden will be torn between doing what’s best for his own career and what’s best for a family that might never fully accept him.
That said, Holden will realize Billy may not be reliable and won’t love the idea of ruining the progress he’s made with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
After Stephanie sends Holden to talk things out with his sister, Lily will warn against accepting Billy’s job offer since he’s doomed to fail.
Lily will urge Holden to side with his family in the fight for Chancellor instead, so he’ll decide he’s all in.
Back with Stephanie, she’ll want to treat Nate to lunch to thank him for cooking for her recently.
Stephanie will find out Nate and Dr. Price worked out a time for his upcoming hand surgery, so they’ll have high hopes about it going well.
Nate will also be excited to get back to work at Genoa City Memorial Hospital if everything goes smoothly.
At Jabot, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will dismiss Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) suggestion of putting some space between them to keep the peace with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Nikki will argue that Victor admitted his love for her was stronger than his hatred for Jack, so she’ll refuse to let him get in the way of their friendship.
Instead, Nikki will want to lean on that friendship even more and will push Jack to help Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) through his ordeal.
Jack will be more than willing to pitch in as a sponsor or just a pal, but he’ll insist Nick has to want his assistance.
At Nick’s rehab facility, he’ll be stumped over a puzzle until Marie Wilson (Jade Harlow) appears and gives it a fresh look.
Marie will joke around with Nick as she offers tips and will explain how she ran into more trouble after she got her stomach pumped.
Marie’s husband lashed out at her again before she got a phone call about losing her waitress position.
After Marie took a pill and wanted to take more, she thought back to Nick’s share at the meeting recently and decided to check back in rehab instead.
Y&R spoilers say Nick and Marie will do some bonding before he calls Nikki over for a visit.
That’ll bring some sweet mother-son moments along with Nick’s vow that he won’t leave the clinic until he’s truly ready.
At the Newman ranch, Victor will assume Jack is there to gloat about the Chancellor situation, but he’ll warn that declaring victory is premature.
Jack will argue that he’s there about far more important news and hope they can come together on this.
Once Jack confesses this is about helping Nick, Victor will stand firmly against the idea.
After the way Jack handled things with Nikki when she was struggling with her drinking issues, he won’t want Jack anywhere near Nick right now.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will refuse to budge on his stance and will ultimately order Jack to leave.
