The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that social media has been filled with complaints about one story in particular.
Y&R needs to move on from a buried secret that’s never really mattered much and does nothing but waste airtime.
Of course, we’re talking about the shocker that Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) have been keeping under wraps.
Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) has finally decided that whatever secrets Holden’s hiding about what went down at The Shadow Room don’t matter, but he’s still haunted by what happened.
Holden and Audra couldn’t help but be thrown by The Shadow Room’s appearance since it’s a recreation of the place where Richard (Mike Falkow) the art dealer died.
After Holden decked Richard and accidentally threw him into the bar, Richard suffered a fatal head wound.
Holden and Audra launched a cover-up in the aftermath, so they’ve been sitting on that secret ever since.
This storyline has been going on for months with no real movement, so it’s easy to see why so many viewers are over it!
Holden should’ve just been honest with Claire a long time ago since she’d probably be sympathetic.
Holden was protecting Audra when he threw that punch and never intended to kill Richard.
The cover-up isn’t great, but the Newmans – including Claire herself – have done far worse and continue to do so.
It doesn’t even make sense for Holden to be so haunted over this new version of The Shadow Room since he willingly partied at the old one with Claire when he took her to Los Angeles.
This secret just isn’t bringing any real drama, so the show needs to wrap things up and focus on something else.
Fortunately, there are good reasons to believe the show’s going to push the story forward soon enough.
Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) is set to find out some of the secrets that Holden’s been keeping and will face off with Audra in the coming weeks.
That hopefully means this deceased art dealer mess will finally blow up so that Y&R can move on.
