The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Devon Winters (Bryton James) has been spinning out for a while now, so he’s hoping to figure out a way to deal with his issues and regain control of his life.
Devon’s soul-searching could lead to him giving up most of his money and shocking Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) in the process.
Y&R fans know Devon’s problems started when Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) kidnapped Dominic Winters (Ethan Ray Clark) and got a slap on the wrist for it.
Instead of landing in prison for her punishment, Mariah ended up in a psychiatric facility and underwent treatment.
Of course, Mariah had some genuine mental health issues going on since she was hallucinating Ian Ward (Ray Wise) around the time of the abduction!
Although Mariah arguably wound up in the right place, Devon was still angry about it.
Somewhere along the way, Devon’s fury led him down a troubling path. Now Devon’s been isolating himself and has become depressed since he’s feeling so lost.
Devon himself has admitted this isn’t about Mariah or that whole situation anymore.
Since Devon doesn’t have a firm grip on what’s wrong, he also doesn’t really know how to fix what he’s going through.
However, that could change now that the show has offered a hint about where Devon’s storyline might be headed.
In the July 30 episode, Devon opened up to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) about how he was questioning everything in his life.
After Devon mentioned all the money he inherited and the privilege that comes with it, he seemed troubled over the kind of man that it had turned him into.
Although Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) gave Devon that massive inheritance, she wouldn’t want him struggling like this.
It’s possible that Devon will decide to give the majority of his fortune to charity if he feels like it’s become a burden.
Abby is a wealthy Newman and Abbott, so that’s worth keeping in mind.
It’s not like Devon and Abby’s family will ever be broke, so they’ll always be able to provide for themselves and Dominic.
Devon may just feel like giving most of his inheritance away could provide a nice reset for his life and help him focus on what’s important.
Perhaps Devon can use this to help get a grip and become the kind of man he truly wants to be.
