The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) may be a little too confident when it comes to the risks she’s taking and her ability to handle Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Is Victor setting Phyllis up for a huge downfall that’ll result in three major losses?
In Y&R’s October 6 episode, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) urged Phyllis not to let Victor stroke her ego and make herself vulnerable. T
he fact that Victor was actually supportive of Phyllis and her business moves was a red flag as far as Cane was concerned.
Cane still cares about Phyllis enough to warn her about the trouble he can see coming from a mile away.
From Cane’s perspective, Phyllis may be stepping right into a takedown trap that’ll leave Victor the winner while she’s left with nothing.
Cane is right to worry considering Victor’s history of striking back against his enemies sooner or later.
It honestly never made sense for Victor to give Phyllis Arabesque after she stole Newman Enterprises.
It’s true that Phyllis helped save Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) life, but we’re still talking about someone who kept the Newman empire away from Victor for months.
It seems far more likely that Victor is playing a long-game revenge strategy and letting Phyllis think she’s got the upper hand.
Perhaps Victor is really letting Phyllis dig a hole for herself that’ll result in him getting payback down the road.
Phyllis took out some major loans to acquire the athletic club and the office building that sits in front of Newman Tower.
Since Phyllis was willing to take on a massive amount of debt to make those purchases, she’s obviously creating more problems for herself.
Phyllis is doing her best to rebuild Arabesque, but it’s going to take some time for it to be as successful as she would like.
Arabesque is still operating at a disadvantage compared to Newman Enterprises and the other big dogs in Genoa City.
At some point, Victor may make it his mission to steal Arabesque back and let Phyllis feel the sting of defeat.
Victor could ultimately work to acquire the GCAC and that office building that Phyllis keeps gloating about as well.
Phyllis could be left with nothing if this triple loss plays out, at least when it comes to business.
Victor could certainly deliver some devastating news if he restarts his rivalry with Phyllis like Cane expects.
On the bright side, it might force Phyllis to focus on restoring her family with Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) and Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) above all else.
