The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, July 28, reveal that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will sink to a troubling place as she wrestles with her blindness and how her life has changed.
Things will get worse for Nikki before they get better, but this is all building to a dramatic moment when Nikki’s sight will start coming back to her.
It looks like Tuesday’s Y&R episode may be a special standalone that’s all about Nikki and how devastated she is.
The only spoiler released for that day involves Nikki feeling crushed over her condition and her attempt to live with her vision loss.
We should also note that there’ll be a curveball related to Nikki’s medical status on Wednesday’s show.
Tuesday’s cliffhanger might be Nikki’s vision starting to come back as a way to set up what’ll happen the next day.
Dr. Nowling (Doug Tompos) couldn’t give Nikki any guarantees, but he pointed out that her sight could still return after the optic nerve had more time to heal.
Nikki has been pessimistic about the chances of seeing again ever since her bandage removal, but she’ll be pleasantly surprised when things begin to change.
Nikki could only see black when the bandages came off, but her vibrant world will ultimately come back into focus and leave her overjoyed as a result.
That said, Nikki has a whole episode of heartache ahead before that plays out, so there’ll definitely be some dramatic moments.
Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) has tried to be realistic about the possibility that Nikki’s eyesight might never return, but Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has been clinging to hope.
Now that Nikki’s vision is on the way back, Claire will certainly be happy that Victoria was right to have some optimism.
