The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, May 7, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will have an intriguing conversation while Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) makes a risky vow to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
In Phyllis’ office on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will arrive and point out that Phyllis could land in prison.
That’s why Nick will think it’s time for Phyllis to pat herself on the back and convince herself that whatever lesson she believes she’s taught is enough.
Phyllis will refuse to back down, so Nick will become increasingly agitated.
When Phyllis senses that something’s off with Nick, she’ll ask if he’s OK and will seem genuinely concerned about the father of her child.
Nick will scoff over Phyllis acting worried and will make it clear that he doesn’t care about her anymore before stomping off.
At Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) house, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) will finally convince Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) to get some sleep despite her fears about Matt potentially coming for them in Genoa City.
Noah will eventually call Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to see if Matt or perhaps his corpse has been found.
There still won’t be any sign of Matt or his car, so Noah and Nick will talk about that when his dad arrives at the cottage.
Later, Sienna will pop back up and speak with Noah about her regrets regarding Matt.
Despite Noah’s attempt to reassure Sienna, she’ll fret over Matt’s comeback and fear he’s already there.
At the Abbott mansion, Lily will tell Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) about Cane being a bone marrow donor match for Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore), but she’ll worry about things falling apart now that Cane’s been arrested.
At the GCAC, Matt will enter and see if the bartender might recognize him.
When the bartender doesn’t, Matt will inquire about regulars and hear Cane getting his usual at the bar,
That’ll lead to Matt trying to chat with Cane and figure out if they know each other.
Cane won’t think so and will eventually step away to speak with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens).
A couple of other patrons will obstruct Holden’s view of Matt, so he won’t have a chance to recognize Matt from his “Mitch Bacall” days.
Cane will talk to Holden about being out on bail, but he’ll admit he can’t leave town since he’s a flight risk.
At one point, Phyllis will enter and face Cane’s outrage since her chloroform move led to his legal issues.
Cane will snap about Phyllis being poison before she catches Matt staring at her as they sit at the bar.
Matt will comment on Phyllis’ “main character energy” and will engage in a somewhat flirty banter with her.
After Matt admits he doesn’t remember who he is and wishes that he could, Phyllis will mutter about wishing she could do a memory wipe.
Once Holden gets in touch with Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox), he’ll confirm that it’s fine for Cane to do the retrieval procedure there in Genoa City.
At the coffeehouse, Lily will still have concerns about there being some sort of delay or accident in the courier process.
Cane will work to calm Lily down and will eventually offer to break bail to take this New York trip if she needs him there.
At the park café, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will sit down at the last table together.
That’ll lead to Audra hyping up her position at Spectra-Charles Media and rubbing it in Claire’s face since she lost the job her family handed to her.
Claire will point out that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) handed Audra a job as well, so there’ll be bickering about that along with their love lives.
After Claire meets up with Holden, she’ll accept his offer to come to New York with him.
If Holden tells Claire what happened with Audra in Los Angeles, she’ll consider that a bonus.
Back at the GCAC, Nick will arrive and look over at the bar, where Phyllis will still be sitting with Matt.
However, there’ll be some other patrons near Matt that could interfere with Nick being able to see his familiar foe.
