The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, August 11, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) will sizzle at the motel together while Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) derails a close moment between Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
At Crimson Lights, Kyle will push Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to get on board with going after revenge on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), but Jack will want peace for now.
When Jack and Kyle find Victoria crying on the patio, they’ll encourage her to share what’s wrong.
Victoria will admit Nick checked out of rehab for a family event and then disappeared instead of checking back in.
After Jack offers a pep talk, Y&R spoilers say he’ll step away for a phone call.
Victoria will feel like she has to stay strong for everyone else, but Kyle will think she needs to accept help and will give her a hug.
Once Kyle and Victoria pull back, they’ll share an intense look and seem like they’re tempted to kiss.
However, Jack will pop back up and derail the close moment without realizing what he’s interrupted.
In Nick’s motel room, Marie will admit she’s an addict like Nick and will clearly be looking to do drugs with him.
Nick will insist he just needs one night to regroup before heading back to rehab and will think Marie should get help, too.
Marie will like her life the way it is and won’t be looking for Nick to rescue her.
After Marie wishes Nick luck and heads out, Nick will flush his fentanyl and try to stay strong in his rehab plan.
However, Marie will pop back up claiming she left her motel key behind.
That’ll give Marie a chance to leave another baggie of drugs on Nick’s bed, so they’ll end up taking pills together and basking in the feeling of it.
Marie will confess that her husband doesn’t understand, which is why he won’t be her husband for much longer.
There’ll be some talk about Marie’s car accident and how it was the beginning of her addiction.
Nick will relate to Marie’s story before they wind up making out and falling back on the bed like they’re going to get even more passionate.
At Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) penthouse, she’ll celebrate with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) after closing a deal.
Devon Winters (Bryton James) will come over with Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) and ultimately announce that he’s stepping away from Winters.
Although Devon will still be on the board and available for consult, he’ll want to throw his time and energy into a meaningful project instead of just focusing on the family company.
Devon will plan to put his inheritance to good use and create a liberal arts college that’s open to even people who can’t afford it.
After Devon explains his plan and says he’s naming the college after Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), Lily and Nate will offer their support.
Since Devon will want Nate and Lily to step up in his absence, that’ll put Nate’s own plans in jeopardy.
After Devon and Abby leave, Nate will open up to Lily about his potential return to medicine and how Devon’s decision affects things.
Meanwhile, Devon will question Abby about whether she’s truly supportive of this major life change, so she’ll assure Devon that she is.
