The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday. July 21, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will interrupt a couple of passionate encounters between Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Matt Clark (Roger Howarth)
Meanwhile Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) comes up with a plan to dupe Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins).
Once Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) brings Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) home from the hospital following his early release, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will join them and admit he’s been off bargaining with Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk).
After Jack and Diane work to shut that down, Diane will suggest they should focus on finding Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) instead since he could still pose a threat.
Diane will explain the signed books she spotted at Dr. Markham’s house and point out that he co-authored a paper on narcissistic personality disorders with Martin when he was pretending to be Dr. Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins).
Diane will be convinced that there’s a connection and that Martin might be able to tell them where Dr. Markham is hiding.
When Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) pops up and hears that Diane wants to contact Martin for information, she’ll insist on doing it herself.
While Jack calls Detective James Burrow (Matt Cohen) to set something up, Traci will admit to Diane that Martin’s been writing letters of regret from his prison psych ward cell.
The goal will be to use Martin’s desire to make things right to their advantage and score info on Dr. Markham’s potential hideout.
Jack will eventually return with news about Burrow arranging a video call with Martin, so Traci will be ready to look him in the eye and try to get some answers.
At the athletic club on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Phyllis will kiss Matt in an effort to convince him to stay in Genoa City.
Nick will spot that smooch and blow his top, but Phyllis will insist Matt has changed and defend her right to have him in her life.
Later, Phyllis will take Matt up to her suite, where he’ll confess that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is threatening him with prison if he leaves.
Phyllis will acknowledge that Victor could make that happen and push Matt to stick around since they’re two peas in a pod.
After things take a passionate turn between Matt and Phyllis, they’ll make out and start unbuttoning their clothes.
Once Nick vents to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and denies being jealous, he’ll head upstairs and start banging on Phyllis’ suite door.
That’ll pump the brakes on Phyllis and Matt’s sizzling encounter.
Back down in the GCAC dining room, Victoria will ask Kyle to join her for a drink.
Kyle will accept the invitation as long as they don’t talk about their families, but they’ll struggle to come up with anything to say.
After deciding to spill secrets to each other, Victoria will admit she’s been wearing Jabot’s signature foundation for years and push Kyle to divulge something he’d been hiding, too.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle and Victoria will continue to bond in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
