The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, August 12, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will realize he needs help from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) after a heartbreaking situation plays out in his hotel room with Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow).
After Nick strips down for passion with Marie, he’ll assume she’s sleeping later and write her a note.
However, Nick will eventually check Marie’s pulse and determine that her heart has stopped, so he’ll do chest compressions until she gasps back to life.
Marie will insist Nick should’ve just let her die and will try to stop him from calling an ambulance for her, but he’ll insist.
After the paramedics take Marie away, Nick will cry in his bed alone before calling Sharon.
Once Nick admits he’s in bad shape, he’ll add that he needs Sharon to come get him.
At Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) penthouse, she’ll learn there’s a chance Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) could become a surgeon again based on some new techniques that could repair his hand.
Lily will think Nate has to follow his heart, so she’ll threaten to fire him if he doesn’t pursue this.
Nate will worry about leaving Winters right as Devon Winters (Bryton James) is leaving, but Lily will argue that she’ll be fine flying solo.
At the GCAC, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will bump into Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).
Jack will give Cane an attitude and express surprise when he hears about Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) new Chancellor position.
Cane will also hint about some wild goose chase that Billy is on.
If Billy is only using this job to search for some secret within Chancellor, then Cane will warn his patience is going to run out fast.
At Society, Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) will be a bit uneasy over how fast Devon is moving when it comes to his liberal arts college plans.
However, Abby will mostly just be rattled over feeling like she almost lost her marriage.
Devon will offer sweet reassurance before Jack and Diane arrive.
After chatting with Devon and Abby briefly, Diane and Jack will mull over Billy’s latest Chancellor obsession.
Jack will also fill Diane in on Nick’s drug issues, so she won’t be thrilled that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has been confiding in him.
As for Nikki and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) reunion, Diane will rant about her getting back together with that monster and won’t think Nikki is a good friend.
Jack will ultimately think they need to go back to their plan to keep Victor’s name out of their mouths and celebrate their love.
Once Nate summons Devon to his place, he’ll drop the news about his return to medicine if his hand can be fixed.
Devon will express regret over hurting Nate’s hand in the first place since he took Nate’s dream away from him.
Nate will own his part in the fight that led to his injury and will suggest they should just focus on their dreams now.
Y&R spoilers say Devon will get on board with Nate’s plans and learn Lily was supportive, too.
Once Cane joins Lily at the athletic club, she’ll fill him in on all the latest Devon and Nate info.
Cane will admit he’d understand if Lily wanted to run Chancellor again now that her family will no longer be at Winters with her.
Lily will assure Cane that she wants him to run Chancellor while she keeps running Winters, so they’ll share a toast.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Cane and Lily will run into some trouble as they try to juggle their love lives with their careers, so stay tuned.
