The Young and the Restless Wednesday, October 7 Recap: Sinister Voice in Matt’s Head – Sick Diane Cancels Plans

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, October 7, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will struggle as a familiar voice creeps back in and tries to steer him down a terrible path.

Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will also feel under the weather, so she’ll be forced to bail on Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) bachelorette party.

At the Abbott mansion on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Diane won’t be pleased with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) arrives to discuss a personal matter with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

While Jack is taking a phone call, Diane and Nikki will trade threats about their Vibrante-Jabot feud, which Diane will suggest shouldn’t involve Jack or Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

After Diane leaves, Nikki will fill Jack in on what happened with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Joe (Chris Grant Wenchall).

Since Nick is refusing to attend meetings, Nikki will hope that Jack can talk to him.

However, Jack will argue that there’s only so much he can do and that Nick has to take the next step.

At Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) house, she’ll summon Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) for a discussion about Nick.

Once Phyllis agrees to come right over, Nick will show up on Sharon’s doorstep unexpectedly.

Nick will end up feeling ambushed after Phyllis joins Sharon, but they’ll only want to help.

There’ll be some talk about all the Joe and Marie Kirkland (Jade Harlow) problems, so Phyllis will push Nick to stop playing the hero and focus on his own life.

Sharon will suggest Nick might need to head back to rehab, but Phyllis will be vehemently against the idea since Nick could meet other bad influences like Marie there.

Phyllis will eventually push for a fun distraction, so she’ll take Sharon and Nick to the athletic club to reveal that she owns the place now.

At the Riverbank Motel, Matt will check back in and mull over his next move.

After Matt considers reconnecting with Phyllis and alerting everyone to Patty’s potential threat, his own sinister voice will resurface inside his head.

The old Matt will mock the new Matt’s Patty plan and argue that he’ll let his kind side die in that car crash if he’s smart.

As for the people Matt’s hurt, that wicked voice will try to tell Matt that they deserved it.

Matt will want to believe he can be the good guy that Phyllis sees when she looks at him.

However, the old Matt will keep pressuring him, so Matt will eventually scream at himself in the mirror and act like he can’t choose who he wants to be.

Matt will clearly be conflicted before he ultimately rushes out of his motel room and lands at the GCAC, where he’ll spy on Phyllis, Nick and Sharon.

At Crimson Lights, Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) will mope about not getting invited on the family cruise, so Sally will invite her to her bachelorette party in Chloe Mitchell’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) place.

Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will have some bad news for Sally since some of her old Marchetti friends can’t make it to the gathering.

There’ll be some other cancelations as well due to a stomach bug that’s going around.

However, Audra and Chelsea will plan on pulling people off the street if they have to!

The goal will be to give Sally a great party and deliver a surprise that she’s going to love.

After Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) wind up arguing loudly on the patio, Audra will warn them to put their big boy pants on and avoid causing wedding drama for Sally.

Once Diane meets up with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) for a drink, she’ll tell him about her plan to destroy Nikki and ruin Vibrante right out of the gate.

Michael will have concerns about how Diane’s going to keep Jack in the dark, but she’ll feel confident she can pull it off.

However, Diane will ultimately feel sick and realize she may be coming down with that stomach bug that’s going around.

It’ll leave Diane feeling like she’s not going to make it to Sally’s bachelorette party.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally’s bash will come with some excitement anyway, so don’t miss what’s ahead.
