Peter John came with a very embarrassing injury. He had a fracture down there. He was injured during foreplay with this drunk woman he met at a bar and it didn’t go well. Well, Peter was concerned about fathering kids. His dad happens to be a lawyer so Mary gave him a healthy dose of morphine to knock him out. Watson also called in his team. He has the one percent rule. He wanted to show them rare cases and that led to him calling them in on their day off. They all got to watch Peter gets his johnson fixed.

Pretty much everyone paid attention. It was only Ingrid who was too busy reading the file. Ingrid read Peter’s file in which he described his date from hell and she noticed symptoms that could lead to this Nicole from Tiner dying. She suspected she has a tumor. They just needed to find her. Her date that night didn’t know her all that well. Nicole wasn’t her real name. It’s merely one she used for her Tinder profile. She did leave a hoodie behind with Peter. Watson saw the hoodie and he saw enough to identify her as welder of one company with one color they trademarked.

Ingrid and Shinwell later learned her name is Wrem Booker. She rides a motorcycle. She works as a welder. She also thought she was fine before Shinwell bribed her with five hundred dollars to get tested. The eyes fluttering, the uncontrollable laughter, and the way she tilts her head all pointed to there being something seriously wrong with her. It was just Wren that refused to believe it. She said her parents died when she was twelve and that she has no siblings. She then couldn’t breathe once she started laughing spontaneously again.

Something was clearly wrong. Watson studied her while they waited for genetic testing. He came to see that her nailbeds were ruined by frostbite so he knew right away who she saw. She and her family were involved in an airplane crash. It killed their parents and three of their siblings. Wren took care of her younger brother. She built a shelter for them. She started a fire. She apparently hunted foxes so that they could have something to eat. Her brother later told them that as he explained his sister was never the same afterwards.

Wren went from a happy kid to becoming volatile. Her brother Robyn never knew why. He was quickly adopted after their family died. His sister was the one that stayed in the foster care system until she aged out. Robyn then got married. Wren never showed up for it. She did come for Christmas one year and she freaked out. That was six years ago. Robyn hasn’t seen her since because he couldn’t trust her around his young daughter. And he still helped because his story of back then gave Watson all the clues he needed.

It was the fox meat. Foxes are bright white in winter to make it harder to hunt them. The meat they were eating and that kept them alive had to have come from their family members. It was starvation or cannibalism. She chose the latter for her little brother. The one who didn’t get all the trauma of what she had to choose because she was protecting him. Which makes what happens next so sad. Watson said she has KURU. It was a disease that first originated in a cannibalistic tribe. It could be dormant for up to fifty years.

It was a death sentence. It will ultimately lead to death if a cure wasn’t found in the future. They needed to inform Robyn about in and Wren refused at first. She refused to let them share her diagnosis much less what caused it. She reacted violently against that idea. It was only later when she sent a note confirming they could tell her brother that Watson became worried for her. She quoted Emily Dickinson earlier. It gave Watson an idea of where she’d go to end it all. She went to the walk in freezer. She planned on freezing to death because she thought that’s what she deserved.

It was Ingrid that talked her down. Ingrid reminded her that there was still a little girl that needed forgiving. They put Wren in contact with a good therapist. They called Robyn to come in and they told him about what happened. He felt so bad with how harsh he’s been with his sister. She did everything for him. She kept him alive. And now he wants to take care of her – The rest didn’t matter to him.

Watson has Shinwell looking into Sherlock’s whereabouts so he took a flight to London tonight.

Adam also agreed to hawk a few protein powders now that he knows he’s having triplets. Yes, his fiancé was pregnant with triplets. She was also going to leave her job so that she could be there for the babies when they’re born. Adam was going to the sole breadwinner and he needed to make a quick buck. Stephens just hopes that quick buck doesn’t destroy his credibility or livelihood.

The End
