Sheen Being Shadowed By A “Sober Coach”.

Charlie Sheen  – who earlier this week pleaded not guilty to allegations he attacked wife Brooke Mueller on Christmas Day (25.12.09) – is keen to stay clear of drink and drugs so has employed someone to follow him all day, including on the set of his TV show ‘Two and a Half Men’.

A source said: “Charlie wants to get clean. He’s got his demons and he knows it. But he’s doing everything he can right now.”   Charlie – entered rehab last month for alleged problems with cocaine and alcohol – is planning to return to the ‘Two and a Half Men’ set this week to finish filming the current series, but will attend rehab at night.   Friends say Charlie – who has one-year-old twin boys, Bob and Max, with Brooke – is determined to get his life back on track but they aren’t sure he can do it with Brooke, who is also battling an alleged drink and drug addiction.

One pal revealed to RadarOnline.com: “It’s not easy to get through to Charlie. And he and Brooke are awful for each other. But there’s no denying that he’s trying to get sober and straight and pull it together right now.”

On Monday (15.03.10), Charlie, 44, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Brooke as he faces three charges – felony menacing, misdemeanour third degree assault and misdemeanour criminal mischief – stemming from her allegations he threatened to kill her with a knife.   A trial date has been set for July 21 and Charlie’s next hearing date is April 19, although he’s not required to be in court in person.
