Betty White has finally responded to Sgt. Ray Lewis, a Marine recruiter and rapper stationed in Texas who was hoping to attend the upcoming Marine Corps Ball with the 89-year-old actress. Unfortunately for Sgt. Lewis, White respectively declined the invitation due to a scheduling conflict. The original video is above.

“I am deeply flattered and truly appreciate the invitation,” White said. “As everyone knows, I love a man in uniform … but unfortunately I cannot accept, as I will be taping an episode of ‘Hot in Cleveland.’”

The statement, which was released by her publicist earlier, ended with: “Love, Betty White”

Sgt. Lewis was the third marine to ask a celebrity out. Two other marines took a similar approach and posted YouTube videos, one targeting Mila Kunis and the other directed at Justin Timberlake. As of now, both JT and MK have accepted their invitations. What nice celebs :)
