Last Thursday, Ashton Kutcher lost one of Hollywood’s biggest stars as his wife when Demi Moore announced, in what was construed as an accusatory statement blaming Ashton, that the she was seeking a divorce. Now a New York psychotherapist, Dr. Bonnie Eaker Weil says that Ashton has adopted Charlie Sheen‘s persona as a result of stepping into his role on ‘Two and a Half Men.’
Dr. Weil claims that in essence, Ashton has behaved as if he thought he were Charlie – both on and off screen! Of course Ashton already had the seeds of a scoundrel in him – but he was pushed over the top by taking Charlie’s role to heart and really internalizing it. Ashton’s behaviour deteriorated because acting like Charlie actually made him more like Charlie.
“He already had it in him. This took it over the top,” says Dr. Weil, the author of Adultery: The Forgivable Sin. “He took on the persona which is very common when you’re role-playing.”
Demi said in her divorce statement: “As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.” Demi was no doubt referring to huge public embarrassment and heartache she faced when Ashton’s latest extra-martial affair was exposed by the party girl, 23-year-old Sarah Leal.
Although Ashton had been exposed as unfaithful before, with Brittney Jones, his marriage could not recover from the recent accusations made by 22-year-old Leal that Ashton had sex with her at a San Diego hotel room in September – perhaps even worse was the fact that Leal made it clear that Ashton has lied about being married to Demi.
Leal claimed all over the tabloids that she and Ashton had sex twice in the early hours of September 24 : “We had sex twice. Everything felt natural. We were having a good time. One thing led to another. He was good but it wasn’t weird or perverted or creepy. I was attracted to him and he was attracted to me. He had great endurance. We were up for a while. It was about two hours.”
“In the hot tub it was me and my friend Marta and Ashton and his friend. Later my other girlfriend, Alexis, joined us but she just put her feet in and didn’t take her clothes off. Ashton looked hot naked. Alexis started asking all these random questions. She was like, ‘Aren’t you married?’ He said, ‘I’m separated.’”
“That’s when it first occurred to me whether he was married. I don’t really keep up with celebrity couples … If I had known from the beginning he was happily married, none of this would ever have happened.”
So now we have a medical opinion that says that Ashton can blame Charlie Sheen for his divorce and bad behaviour. We better hope that Ashton is never cast in the role of Hitler, Stalin, or a Son of Sam.
