NBC Apologizes To Presidential Candidate Michele Bachmann

Looks like NBC found themselves in the hot seat – specifically Jimmy Fallon and his band The Roots.  Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann came to Fallon’s “Late Night” on Wednesday night, however when she walked on stage the band began playing an inappropriate song entitled “Lyin’ Ass Bit..” (you get the idea).

Oops!  I think my man Questlove is in the doghouse! Since the show was aired, the Minnesota congresswoman received a personal letter from NBC’s vice president Doug Vaughan.  He said that the incident was:

“not only unfortunate but also unacceptable,”  and that the band has been “severely reprimanded.”

Fallon also apologized to Bachmann, going as far as tweeting, “so sorry about the intro mess.”

Mess indeed.  Bachmann, for her part, said that the incident was “inappropriate, outrageous and disrespectful.”

Ahmir (aka Questlove) Thompson, said that he song was a “tongue-in-cheek and spur-of-the-moment decision.”

Well hopefully the wrinkles have been smoothed, I love me my Fallon – and my Roots.  Nothing that a sincere apology can’t fix.
