“General Hospital” (GH) spoilers tease that showrunners are setting up an all-new love triangle for Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) but this time she’ll be the focal point of the battle rather than the one trying to win a man from another woman. So who are the two men vying for Liz’s heart? Read on!
GH spoilers hint that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) and Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) will compete for Liz’s affections and it will be a battle royale! Now that Liz has reconciled herself to the fact that Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) will never be her man, she needs a new love in her life.
But perhaps the better solution is for Liz to have an old love revived. After all, Liz has done some pretty shady things in her time, so it seems like a guy who knows her at her worst and still loves her has the best chance at a solid future with her.
If Liz turned to Port Chuck’s version of Tinder, she’d have a lot of explaining to do about her three kids by three different men, the wise cracks people make behind her back about lying to and bedding an amnesiac, etc. An old flame rekindled is better for her…
Nik and Ric know her dirty laundry and will help her fold it and put it neatly away rather than airing it out. Plus, both love her and have deep history there. Liz had a pregnancy and loss with Ric – and a missed opportunity pregnancy with Nik, so that’s a similarity for both men.
Ric may have a leg up on Nik since he married Liz before but then that failed proposal at the Nurse’s Ball last year may cancel that out. Of course, there’s also a lot of confusion with Liz and Nik since he’s the brother of her baby daddy and twice former husband Lucky.
Further evidence that Liz is headed for a love triangle is that she’s always been in one – whether it was her and Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) over Jason or her with Nikolas and Lucky, she’s always in that position somehow.
It makes sense that GH showrunners would put Liz into a new triangle since her last one sparked months and months of controversy and fan interest with Team Liason vs Team JaSam. And don’t forget Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig).
Hayden recently accused Liz of revealing her Rachel Berlin secret so she could get Nikolas back for herself. That might have been part of Liz’s motivation – even if Liz wasn’t conscious of it at the time. Of interest also is that Hayden has a past with both Ric and Nik.
As Ric’s hired fake wife to Jake Doe, Hayden and Ric have a mutual understanding of getting what you want at all costs. And as Nik’s real wife, Hayden won’t stand for Liz taking her husband even if he’s not as rich as he once was.
It would absolutely eat Hayden up to see two men fighting over Liz while she’s left out in the cold.
Hayden might try and lure one (or both) men away from Liz to punish her for being pivotal in her downfall. Hayden would like nothing better than seeing Liz all alone.
Hayden and Ric might even conspire once again to ruin any shot Nikolas and Liz have at love so they can each take back the one they want. That would be a plot worth watching – and we know both Hayden and Ric are capable of playing dirty like that.
