Fans of the Hunger Games who wanted their beloved Katniss and Peeta to get together in real life will no doubt be disappointed by this news. It has been confirmed that Josh Hutcherson is dating his Paradise Lost co-star Claudia Traisac after being caught smooching her this past weekend.
Hutcherson previously ‘dated’ Vanessa Hudgens during promotion for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, and I quote dated because it was rumored that they were actually just friends with benefits.
Of course, Josh and Claudia met while filming Paradise Lost with Benicio del Toro, and clearly there were sparks. Claudia is pretty much exactly Josh’s type, which he’s described as pretty, petite, and dark-haired.
Sadly, this means that Josh can no longer be linked to Jennifer Lawrence. Well, I’m not sad about this because they had absolutely no chemistry together, but I’m sure that some fans of the Hunger Games are.
It’ll be interesting to see how Josh’s relationship with Claudia progresses. We’ve seen how the attention and ensuing fame from the Hunger Games affected Liam Hemsworth and Jennifer Lawrence’s respective relationships, but one could argue that Josh and Claudia got together recently and she already knows about his fame.
There’s also the fact that Josh will soon become very, very busy promoting Catching Fire and then filming Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2 back to back. Relationships are hard enough to maintain in Hollywood without the extra time apart and distance apart. We’ll have to keep an eye on this couple and see if they’re still together by the end of this year.
