Tom Cruise Admits he Neglected Suri Cruise for 110 Days after Katie Holmes Divorce in Tabloid Lawsuit!

Tom Cruise had to know that when he sued In Touch Weekly and Life & Style Magazine for ‘defamation’, he would be put on the spot. Tom’s wrath was targeted towards the tabloids after they released reports about how he was abandoning his daughter, Suri Cruise, after his divorce with Katie Holmes.

Although Tom claims that the magazine made everything up, it looks like they may have actually been right all along — at least, based on Tom’s deposition under oath. Despite his best efforts to make it seem otherwise, it was revealed during this deposition that Tom didn’t see Suri for almost a 110 days after his divorce. That’s more than three months, and when he did see her again, it was only for a couple of days. Although Tom may not see that as abandonment, I don’t know what he’s smoking to think that not seeing your daughter after a difficult divorce is considered normal parenting behavior.

Obviously, our dear Tommy is full of excuses, as always. He first explains that he’s kept in steady contact with Suri over the phone, telling her ‘wonderful stories’. He explains, “I’ve gotten very good at it. I’e gotten very good at it. I tell wonderful stories and they like hearing it.” However, the attorney’s response was, “It really doesn’t substitute for being able to be there does it?” I can already imagine Tommy sweating at this stage.

Then, he was questioned about his ability to fly during those three months, and despite the fact that he was filming, it’s established by the lawyer that Tom could have easily taken a flight during the weekend or during one of his breaks to go see his daughter. Obviously, he’s once again ready with his excuse for not doing so, explaining, “There are many different circumstances. One, first of all, at this point when you’re looking at — you can’t compare Reacher to All You Need Is Kill or Edge of Tomorrow (movies he was working on at various times). And the situation, you know, when you’re thinking of your child and thinking what is the best thing for them, and of course, respecting Katie’s wishes in terms of Suri’s scheduling, the nature of making that film, the nature of having finished one film, and kind of — agreements change, you know. That wasn’t how the thing was set up.”

He claims that, even without a legal deterrent to keep him from seeing his daughter, it was ‘impossible’ in that particular situation for him to go see her.

Methinks someone’s running out of excuses. He had time off from filming, and he could have easily taken a break every month to go see his daughter, and he chose not to. Maybe he didn’t want to see Katie, maybe he wasn’t ready to face the spotlight, but for whatever reason, Tom mostly definitely was not in her life for a significant amount of time when he should have been. This lawsuit’s probably turning out to look more like a bad idea for Tommy dear.
