So many relationships bite the dust because people gradually just grow apart and at first glance that seems to be the case for Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie. The couple confirmed yesterday that they have officially separated and that divorce is expected. Supposedly there was no huge incident that led to this decision, the couple has been drifting in opposite directions for awhile now and even couples therapy couldn’t fix their issues. According to Hil’s mom, the family loves Mike but even they realized that the couple functions much better as friends than as a romantic duo.
If you read between the lines that means that there was zero chemistry between Hilary and Mike and that’s not too surprising, is it? I mean they first hooked up when she was around 20 and in the years that have followed she has grown up, become a mother and figured out exactly who she is. That’s a lot of transitioning for her relationship to accommodate and at this point, both Hilary and Mike pack more heat with other people than they do with each other. We haven’t heard any cheating allegations yet, but maybe both were tempted and if they were standing on level playing ground then that explains why they really do appear to be so civil. Photos of the couple from New Year’s have surfaced and they hardly look like a typical divorcing couple. Instead they look like they really are friends and helping each other through this.
