Nina Dobrev managed to keep her boyfriend, Marc Foster, secret from the public for a few months. However, CDL received a tip a few weeks ago confirming Nina’s new romance, even though Nina herself has done absolutely nothing to confirm or deny the relationship. But alas, we can’t blame her – not only are some of the show’s fan batshit crazy, but there are people way, way too invested in her imaginary relationship with Ian Somerhalder.
See, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder broke up, and while the majority of Nina’s friends have been very supportive of Nina’s new romance, the others are still under the delusion that Nina belongs with Ian. Never mind that it’s been years since they broke up, and that both of them have moved on – Ian with Nikki Reed, and Nina with several different guys. At the end of the day, Nina Dobrev’s new relationship with Marc Foster has caused her a lot of drama on set, and that means that she was right to attempt to keep it a secret.
Of course, the cat’s out of the bag now, but from what we’re hearing, Nina doesn’t want to go public with the relationship until the end of the Vampire Diaries. She’s under the impression – probably rightly so – that she and Ian are still not on the best of terms, and unlike Ian, doesn’t want to rub her new boyfriend into everyone’s faces. So for now, she won’t be going public with her Marc Foster relationship, but as soon as this latest season of The Vampire Diaries season 6 wraps up, don’t be surprised to see the new couple start gracing red carpets everywhere – especially since Nina will then gear up for launching her film career in earnest.
