The Good Wife Star Alan Cumming, Eli Gold, Releases Shocking Memoir Revealing Horrific Childhood Of Abuse and Sadistic Father

Actor Alan Cumming seems to have it all together on the CBS drama The Good Wife, where he plays the part of a fan favorite, Eli Gold. Gold is the advisor and right-hand man of Alicia Florrick’s husband Peter, and also the driving force between Alicia’s recent campaign for state’s attorney. In a new tell all book Alan reveals that his life wasn’t always perfect, actually the exact opposite.

According to the October 27th edition of GLOBE Magazine, Alan Cumming’s new memoir titled “Not My Father’s Son,” reveals that he had a horrific childhood, ironically the kind you usually seen in the movies. GLOBE reveals, “The 49 year old actor grew up in Scotland under the iron fist of his violent, sadistic dad. Alan could never let his tyrannical old man know he had a prized possession, enjoyed a hobby, or liked a friend out of fear it would be taken away from him or destroyed.

In Cumming’s new book, “Not My Father’s Son,” he describes brutal beatings he received from his father on a daily basis with horrifying detail. Alan reveals that he learned years later that the reason his father Alex literally made his life a living hell was because he believed that Alan’s mother had an affair and he was not his biological son. It was proven later on that Alan was definitely Alex’s son, and he confronted his dad on his death bed about the hell he put him through, all based on a paranoid theory he had about his mother cheating.
