The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) could find herself backed into a difficult corner.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) doesn’t approve of Phyllis falling for Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), so he might turn to Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) and Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) for help.
Phyllis still hasn’t been able to repair the damage she did to her family when she took over Newman Enterprises.
Although Phyllis ultimately gave the company back and even got Arabesque as a consolation prize from Victor, her children are still shutting her out.
However, Nick knows that Phyllis would love to truly fix things with Summer and Daniel.
Perhaps Nick will take matters into his own hands by reaching out to them both and seeking their assistance with this Matt situation.
Daniel and Summer surely won’t want Phyllis dating Matt any more than Nick does.
Considering Matt’s history and everything he’s proven that he’s capable of, Summer and Daniel will surely object to Phyllis’ new romance.
Phyllis believes Matt is genuinely a changed man, but Y&R spoilers suggest Daniel and Summer may not agree.
Regardless, Summer and Daniel may insist it’s just not worth the risk of Phyllis dating a man who was previously so monstrous.
Daniel and Summer’s complaints wouldn’t do any good, but maybe they could end up proposing a deal.
Summer is still in Milan at this point, but she could still get on board with Nick’s plan and Daniel’s potential move.
Nick might argue that if Summer and Daniel are willing to wipe the slate clean, then Phyllis might be willing to walk away from Matt.
In other words, if Phyllis’ kids agree to have a loving relationship with their mother again, Nick might hope that’ll be enough to convince her to cut ties with Matt for good.
Daniel and Summer might team up to help Nick get Matt out of Phyllis’ orbit.
Deep down, Summer and Daniel no doubt miss having Phyllis as a real part of their lives, so they might trade family acceptance for a permanent Matt ban.
Of course, Phyllis may not be able to stay away from Matt now that she’s found such an intriguing connection with him!
