General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Kim (Tamara Braun) will continue to keep major secrets. It’s clear that Kim’s willing to bend the truth when it suits her needs. After she confused Jason (Steve Burton) with Drew (Billy Miller), Kim acted like her friend was the one in a relationship with him. She felt she had to lie to Oscar (Garren Stitt) and anyone else who might learn the whole story.
Kim was briefly rattled by the sight of her former flame, but she reverted to her typically calm state moments later. That lets us know she’s a pro at playing people. Kim can recover quickly and make others believe whatever she wants them to believe. Those abilities could be quite important in another GH storyline.
It’s awfully suspicious that Kim arrived just in time to be an OB-GYN for Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Nelle (Chloe Lanier). General Hospital could’ve cast a day player for that, but they went with a character who could play a real role in the plot. Let’s consider the details of Nelle’s appointment and examine some other red flags.
Michael (Chad Duell) could’ve easily demanded to be in the room with Nelle while she was getting her tests done. Instead, he waited outside and gave Nelle the opportunity to cook something up. We only saw a brief meeting between Kim and Nelle inside the room. Then, GH cut to Kim confirming Nelle’s exact statement. She assured Michael that Nelle was about six weeks along.
Every time someone like Carly (Laura Wright) or Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) expresses doubt about this pregnancy, Kim is used as the excuse that it must be true. “Well, Kim confirmed it…” is the usual justification. They have no reason to doubt Kim and that may be why Nelle’s potentially using her.
Nelle can’t hold down a job or keep a romance going, but what’s the one thing she’s actually good at? Blackmail. Nelle’s always finding dirt she can use against other characters. It doesn’t usually work out for her in the end, but she definitely discovers details people would rather keep hidden.
GH buzz says Nelle stunned Kim behind closed doors and learned a deeper secret about Drew and Kim’s knowledge of the memory mapping study. Nelle may have suggested that Kim’s secret would be safe as long as she played along. That may be why Nelle’s not worried about the upcoming paternity test. She might trust that her forced partner in crime will take care of it.
Even if Nelle’s really pregnant, this may not be Michael’s baby. She had $10,000 to play around with after her leak to The Invader. Nelle could’ve paid a doctor to artificially inseminate her with the intention of passing off the child as Michael’s. Everything is just a bit too convenient right now.
If there’s no kid or Nelle has a miscarriage, Kim may have to pull off the inevitable baby theft as part of the blackmail. Will Kim help Nelle swipe Maxie and Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) little one?
