Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) will await big news about their daughter. Once Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton gets checked out at the hospital, Eric and Sarah will hope for the best. They’ll want to hear that Mickey’s going to be just fine, but they won’t be guaranteed that after the exam is completed and the test results come back.
Sarah and Eric will brace for a tough diagnosis, but there’s no preparing for something like this. They’ll be crushed when they’re told that Mickey has cancer. This certainly isn’t what these parents expected – and it’s probably not what DOOL fans wanted either as Christmas approaches. The holidays are supposed to be a joyous time in Salem, but this could really put a damper on things.
On the bright side, it seems likely this will set up the baby swap revelation. Anyone who believes Mickey is actually Eric and Sarah’s little girl hasn’t been watching soaps long enough. Days of Our Lives has delivered the prime setup for Mickey to actually be Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) baby with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). They currently believe their child is dead and buried, but it’s highly doubtful that’s true.
Of course, the fact that one baby already died is also good news for Mickey. Unless Days is trying to win some sort of award for most miserable daytime drama, there’s pretty much no way Mickey’s going to die, too. A cancer diagnosis is serious and troubling, but it’s not a death sentence. Mickey can beat this – and we’re betting she indeed will.
This could present a heartbreaking situation for Brady and Kristen though. Let’s say the cancer diagnosis somehow leads to information that proves Mickey can’t be Eric and Sarah’s kid. There’s got to be some way for Kristen and Brady to connect the dots. Once they eventually learn Mickey is their daughter, they could be crushed all over again. They already lost one child and will have to face the prospect of losing another if Mickey can’t pull through.
That may be exactly the kind of ordeal that pulls Kristen and Brady together. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Mickey will likely recover and live a long, happy life. She’ll just have to get through this nightmare and be reunited with her real parents first.
As for Eric and Sarah, they’ll face a different kind of devastation. Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) will obviously go through a rough time throughout all this as well. Whether he switched the babies or someone else did it instead, this is going to be a messy ordeal for all parties involved!
