General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) is returning to Port Charles soon, so now’s a good time to think about what other characters fans would like to see. You never know who else might show up in town down the road. Are there any comebacks you think should be in the works?
There have been several major departures over the last few years, so perhaps GH should start thinking about some recasts. It’s always nice if the show can get the original or most popular actors back, but bringing in some stellar new actors is an option, too. Let’s take a look at some options and consider which character return might be most beneficial to General Hospital right now.
For starters, there’s Nikolas Cassadine. Tyler Christopher might be willing to come back if they asked, but he’s had some behind-the-scenes struggles that might make GH wary. Nick Stabile last portrayed the role, but they could always start fresh with a brand-new version of Nikolas.
Nik’s comeback would be welcome anytime, but it’d be especially useful since Laura Webber (Genie Francis) is going to need a new story soon. All the Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) drama is winding down, so it’d be great if her son could return from the dead and shake things up.
Nikolas would also keep Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) busy after he inevitably loses Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford). Nina seems poised to get together with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), so what’s Valentin going to do? Why not make him bitter and turn him into the dark villain we know he can be? A vengeful Nikolas could make this a battle between worthy opponents.
General Hospital spoilers say Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) has more drama coming up with her boys, especially Aiden Webber (Jason David). Many GH fans are still rooting for a Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) comeback in some form. Whether he’s played by Jackson or someone new, it’d be fantastic if Lucky could step up as a father.
There’s also a Corinthos family member who’d be beneficial to have around. Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) is mentioned frequently, so General Hospital is keeping his memory alive. His presumed death would be easy to explain away, and the comeback would fit right into “CarSon’s” baby storyline.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will be devastated if they lose this kid– as many expect they will. It’d be the ideal moment for their beloved son to come back into the picture. A Morgan recast would add another hot young option on canvas, so there are excellent reasons to want one.
Of course, there may be some other character you’re dying to see in Port Charles again. Perhaps it’s one even further back in GH history like Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). If so, be sure to let us know in the comments! Which character return would you like to see most?
