The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star recently had a reason to celebrate. Y&R fans know Hunter King as Summer Newman in Genoa City. She’s been caught in a cousin crisis since Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) found out he’s related to Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) determined to make Theo part of the Abbott family, so that’ll continue to make waves for Kyle in the coming weeks.
In real life, King has been focused on an important part of her own family: her sweet pup, Poppy! In an Instagram post, The Young and the Restless actress gushed over her dog’s first birthday and shared some adorable photos. It turns out King made Poppy a special b-day muffin, which she clearly gobbled up with joy. Many of us have pets we love or have loved in the past, so it’s always fun to see soap stars show off pics of their own.
“Yesterday was Poppy’s 1st birthday! 1 year full of snuggles, kisses and endless games of fetch,” King said. She also opened up about losing another beloved dog named Dallas. Sadly, Dallas passed away from cancer and left a difficult void in King’s family. Although Dallas could certainly never be replaced, King was able to find comfort and a new pet beginning through Poppy. She admitted that snuggles are Poppy’s favorite!
“This lil baby helped heal our broken hearts after we lost my first pup Dallas to cancer. (I like to think they would’ve been best friends),” King said. “I’ve never met another dog who wants to snuggle more than this one right here. All day, every day, just wants to be wrapped up in your arms. UGH SHE’S SO DAMN CUTE! Please enjoy a picture montage of Poppy enjoying her birthday muffin I made for her”
King even bought Poppy some balloons to help celebrate this joyous occasion. The very best dogs deserve the best party supplies. Let’s hope Poppy enjoyed living it up for her first birthday – and here’s to many more ahead of her!
