The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update and recap for Thursday, February 21, tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) will stick to her plan. She has no intention of giving up on her future with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), even after Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) inevitably wakes up. Summer is stubborn and obsessed, which will continue to be a bad combination for Kyle.
Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will be at the Abbott mansion when Summer arrives, so she’ll try to talk some sense into her. She’ll insist that Summer needs to give it a rest and leave Kyle alone, but Summer will refuse. Y&R spoilers say Summer will feel confident that Kyle’s true feelings will win out.
At the hospital, Kyle will show up to see Lola, but he’ll stop short of entering her room. Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela) will around, so Kyle won’t want to provoke them. Dr. Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) will discuss Lola’s potential liver problems with her brothers, but they’ll resolve to keep hope alive. Arturo and Rey will just want their little sis to be OK.
Afterward, Nate will thwart Kyle’s efforts to pay Lola a visit. He’ll contend that Kyle needs Rey and Arturo’s permission first. At the police station, Rey will get his hands on Lola’s file. He’ll look over it and decide he needs more information from Abby. After she’s questioned, Abby will confess that Summer’s been seeking a reunion with Kyle.
At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will ponder some disturbing news. They’ll realize Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) is no longer in lockup, but the others are stuck. Mariah will do her best to figure out why, but she won’t have much luck initially.
When Kyle appears, he’ll guess that maybe Phyllis got a high-powered attorney to work some legal magic. Talk will turn to Lola and how the Rosales brothers won’t let him in her room. Kyle will wish he’d never let Summer in the Abbott cabin. He’ll feel like it was the blunder that set all this in motion.
Soon after, Summer will waltz in and get an earful from Mariah. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Mariah will want to have a little chat about Summer’s mother. She’ll suggest that maybe Phyllis stabbed the others in the back to save herself.
Mariah will also mention that Kyle’s not allowed to see Lola and it’s all thanks to Summer. Once Abby and Arturo arrive, Summer will approach them. She’ll encourage Arturo to lift his visitation ban, but he’ll just hurl insults at her.
At the athletic club, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Ana Hamilton (Loren Lott) will mull over some new tracks. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon will want something brave. He’ll once again try to talk Ana into reviving her singing career, but she’ll insist she’d rather focus on songwriting.
Next, the conversation will shift to Lola and a possible visit. Devon will confess that it could be difficult for him to be at the hospital again. He’ll know it might bring back tough memories of Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) death, but he’ll decide to show his support anyway.
Devon will indeed have a panic attack once he’s in those familiar surroundings. He’ll feel his heart racing and take a pill to soothe himself. Once Devon calms down a bit, he’ll urge Lola to stay with them.
Back with Rey, he’ll grill Kyle about how far Summer’s jealousy might’ve gone. Rey will hint that Summer might’ve been behind Lola’s attack. Afterward, Rey will seek out Summer at Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) place. He’ll interrogate her until Summer realizes she’s at the top of Rey’s suspect list. Summer will deny the accusations and argue that Kyle must’ve given Rey this crazy idea.
Finally, Mariah will get a call from Nick, who’s been busy with court prep and is in the loop on what’s going on. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nick will drop a major bomb. He’ll stun Mariah by admitting that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will all be charged for J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) death tomorrow.
