Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Brandon Barash’s (Jake Lambert) talent has once again led to some story complications! DOOL viewers know the show didn’t anticipate Barash’s popularity in the role of Stefan DiMera. Once Barash took over as a recast, he made the character his own and created major buzz.
Stefan married Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), and they became one of Days’ hottest couples. They had an exciting love-hate thing going on that was fun to watch, but love won out in the end.
Sadly, Days of Our Lives cut Stefan’s time with Gabi short. They made the mistake of killing Stefan off since they had no idea Barash’s version would be such a hit.
Once Barash debuted as Jake, plenty of Days fans were eager to see him revealed as Stefan DiMera. However, Barash arguably did just want he did before and made many of us adore his latest character.
In fact, some viewers like Jake even more than Stefan! There are lots of slick guys like Stefan on soaps, but there’s no one else who’s quite like Jake the lovable mechanic.
It seems likely that Jake will be Stefan in the end, but some of us don’t even want that anymore! Jake’s just such a fun guy, so it’d be a shame to lose him now. Luckily, Days of Our Lives will probably offer the best of both worlds. Even if Jake gets Stefan’s memories back, he may keep certain elements of Jake’s personality.
Jake might even opt to keep the name “Jake” since he wasn’t born “Stefan O. DiMera” anyway. It’ll be interesting to see how Jake chooses to handle all the DiMera drama ahead.
Regardless, Barash continues to delight fans with his performance. We’re lucky that Days has an actor who’s able to leave us so torn about the story and which character he’s playing! Barash is fantastic no matter the role.
