General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that William deVry (Julian Jerome) and Emme Rylan (Lulu Spencer) are both hitting the exit door, but GH is just getting started according to same sources who leaked the above two firings, correctly. There are additional cast cuts and firings coming, so it’s just a matter of time until other departure announcements make waves.
With that in mind, we should go ahead and think about other characters that might land on the chopping block. General Hospital is obviously trying to tighten the budget – and since deVry and Rylan are out, other big names could go, too.
Then again, we could see some newer actors depart as part of this potential firing bloodbath. Either way, let’s consider six characters who might be in danger based on the aforementioned exits and the stories General Hospital is telling right now.
1) Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson)
Since Lulu is out, what are the odds Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson) will stick around without her? Dustin has basically existed to be Lulu’s love interest since he debuted. Even before Lulu’s exit was announced, things weren’t looking good for Dustin due to Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) return.
In light of Lulu’s departure, could GH ship Dustin off with her as a package deal? It’s possible General Hospital will let Dustin and Lulu ride off into the sunset together. Dustin obviously isn’t Lulu’s true love, but a “happily ever after” type of exit for “Lustin” might be an option to consider anyway.
2) Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor)
Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) is another character who might be in danger since he’s still the new kid on the block. Most fans haven’t been able to feel much of anything for Brando one way or the other. Brando just isn’t a character that would stir up outrage if he was written out.
Even Johnny Wactor admitted firing fears before GH returned following the pandemic-related shutdown. “I was absolutely concerned about my new role on GH being short lived,” Wactor told Hollywood Hi.
Now that Brando is putting his life on the line by manipulating Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), there’s still a reason to be concerned about this being a short-lived role.
3) Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab)
General Hospital has turned Dev Cerci aka “Dev Corbin” (Ashton Arbab) into a teen schemer who’s impossible to root for. Now that Dev’s going around stealing and forging journal entries as well as playing his so-called friends, he might be in jeopardy.
It’s just tough to ship Dev with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) or even Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) now. They deserve better! It’s possible GH will cut Dev loose under the circumstances.
4) Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson)
GH fans have been speculating about Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) departure for quite some time. Sasha never felt like a character who would have longevity in Port Charles.
It’s almost surprising that Sasha’s lasted this long, but her exit has become increasingly likely due to the character’s drug addiction. Whether Sasha dies of an overdose or heads off to rehab, this would be an easy cut to make.
5) Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry)
Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) may be exposed as a dirty cop eventually – and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) seems poised to inch back in the direction of his former flame, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).
What does that mean for Jordan? Time will tell, but Jordan doesn’t exactly scream “bright future” when you look at the facts here.
6) Peter August (Wes Ramsey)
We should be real and point out that Wes Ramsey might have some job security as Peter August. Ramsey is dating Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), who seems to have some sway with the show – and her onscreen love interest and costar Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) certainly does.
However, there’s no denying that Peter has been written into a horrible corner. General Hospital will have to do some major work to salvage the character if they want to keep him around. That’s why we’ll include Peter in the danger zone just in case!
