General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that many fans are wondering whether we might see the return of a major GH character once the show picks back up after the coronavirus hiatus has ended. As you’re probably aware, GH aired its last original episode this past Friday, and from here on out until production begins again, viewers will be seeing encore episodes.
But something interesting happened on the last new GH episode airing on Thursday, May 21, Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) name came up repeatedly on the show, and that’s got fans wondering whether we might see Luke pop up at some point in the future, once production resumes.
It all started when Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) first quizzed Laura Collins (Genie Francis) about Luke’s whereabouts. Robert was interested in talking with Luke about Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) alleged death.
As GH viewers know, Robert believes that Holly is still alive, and he’s determined to get to the bottom of the matter, but it’s tough since the official report on Holly’s death is heavily redacted.
At any rate, Laura had no idea where Luke was, but she suggested that Robert seek out Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) if he wanted to find his old friend. Robert then headed to the Q mansion, where he asked Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) for his help in locating Luke. Ned then contacted Tracy, who in turn forked over Luke’s current burner phone number.
Well, this all has GH fans wondering whether we’ll see Luke again. This Holly storyline seems to be going somewhere, and of course it could be tied to Peter August (Wes Ramsey), since Peter was in the process of creating a “distraction” for Robert when Holly turned up allegedly dead.
Peter’s henchman insisted that he had nothing to do with Holly’s demise, but of course the more that Robert investigates the matter, he could find out about Peter’s attempt to distract him.
At any rate, the point is that this Holly death story has legs, and now Luke’s name has come up as a key person who might get involved if Robert has his way. Might we see the return of Luke for a while, perhaps as he and Robert investigate what happened regarding Holly?
We could see Luke off overseas with Robert investigating the matter – Luke doesn’t necessarily have to return to Port Charles.
Of course, Luke will probably be devastated to realize that something might have happened to Holly, and he could get just as invested in Robert in proving her death to be falsified. It would be great news for viewers if Luke were to return to canvas, even if only for a brief time.
We’ll see what happens here, and it will certainly be a while before viewers see any new episodes, but we can always hope that Luke will pop up back on our screens down the line!
