General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that two ABC soap stars are already receiving complaints about a storyline – and it hasn’t even aired yet! As part of the upcoming drama in Port Charles, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will hook up with Julian Jerome (William deVry). After deVry confirmed the news on Twitter and word started to spread, it didn’t take long for angry tweets to roll in.
Of course, Thiebaud and deVry certainly aren’t the people who need to be on the receiving end of these tweets. They’re just actors who show up and do their jobs. Furthermore, there’s no need in complaining until this hookup actually hits the screen. Who knows? The steaminess might surprise you!
Thiebaud made those points in an attempt to combat all the griping people were doing. She sent out her own tweet to urge fans to cool it over the story updates. “Guys… we’re just actors. We do what we’re told. #dontknockittillyouveseenit #GH”
Soon after, deVry chimed in with a joke in the replies. “Well….it was lightly suggested we do as we are told.” The General Hospital star also responded to a few disgruntled viewers who hopped in his mentions. There’s no need to send the actors criticism when they didn’t write the story, but deVry seemingly defending the upcoming hookup as soapy fun.
“Britt is okay with sleeping with the man who tried to kill her BFF Brad, letting Brad take the fall on his own, and put his own son in a coma?” one angry fan asked. “@GeneralHospital ruins yet another female character.” “Well…it is a soap. So there’s that,” deVry replied.
We’re with deVry on this one! It seems extreme to act like Britt’s ruined because she’s going to sleep with Julian. Lighten up! To those who think this Britt and Julian hookup is happening out of the blue, deVry offered an interesting perspective. It might seem random, but he argued that there are “no random hook-ups if you think about it.”
It seems deVry feels like people coming together at the same time happens for a reason. That’ll surely be the case for Julian and Britt. It’s wise to keep an open mind and consider the possibility that they’ll have hot chemistry. Like Thiebaud suggest, don’t knock it until you’ve seen it! Even then, the actors aren’t the ones who should be grumbled at.
