General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) twisted web continues to widen with shocking revelations and ties from the past. If it feels like a lot of Cyrus’ connections are being invented now, that’s because they are. The initial plan for Cyrus was actually quite different than what fans are seeing right now.
In an interview with Soaps in Depth, Kober addressed the backstory that GH writers are creating along with the new story developments that have extended his stay in Port Charles. “I’m just having the time of my life,” Kober admitted. “I’m having so much fun. Because I was supposed to die some time ago!”
If Cyrus was supposed to be dead already, that probably means he’s still going to die sooner or later. General Hospital just doesn’t want to rush Cyrus into the grave since he’s such an entertaining villain. It seems the writing team has simply delayed Cyrus’ death since there remain grim hints about his fate.
Cyrus has always been somewhat interested in Laura Collins (Genie Francis), but the show’s really leaning into that now. When Cyrus first came on the scene, he was all about taking down Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews), Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and the task force that put him behind bars.
Of course, Cyrus started a major battle with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and made a fierce enemy out of him as well. Nevertheless, it feels like things are shifting on canvas. The real war seems to be the one that’s being created between Cyrus and Laura.
General Hospital spoilers say Laura will become increasingly determined to take Cyrus down herself. That lines up with Laura’s recent threat.
Laura snarled about the bomb that left Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) in a coma and insisted nothing would stop her from taking Cyrus off the face of this earth. Will Laura follow through on that threat?
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) basically pointed out that all roads lead to Laura. She’s tied to all the info they’re finding, so that feels awfully important.
Florence Gray was the wife of Laura’s biological father – and Cyrus is interested in the David Hamilton case, too. There’s been a lot of focus on Laura being the killer, though she didn’t mean to cause David’s death.
However, Laura just might mean to kill Cyrus! Someone has to murder this guy when the time comes, so who’s it going to be? Will Laura keep her deadly promise to wipe Cyrus off the map?
Laura could easily reach her breaking point eventually and commit Cyrus’ murder. It seems like GH writers want Laura to be a total boss in this story, so maybe she’ll finish this war once and for all.
