General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, December 22, reveal that Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) walked into the police station and found Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) in the interrogation room after her arrest for drunk driving.
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) arrived and spoke briefly with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) in the squad room about Alexis. Sam vowed that this would be the last time her mother was in such a predicament.
Meanwhile, back in the interrogation room, Alexis insisted to Diane that she didn’t drive drunk just as Sam walked in. Sam blasted her mother, wondering just how Alexis ended up behind the wheel.
Sam and Diane agreed to post bail for Alexis if she went directly to rehab, and Alexis refused, so Sam and Diane left. As an officer led Alexis back to a cell, Chase disconnected from a call and told Sam that he had bad news – her father’s body was pulled out of the river in New Jersey.
In Geneva, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) arrived at Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) hotel room. Franco was in the shower, and Scott asked Obrecht what she did with Dr. Warren Kirk’s (Jamison Jones) body.
Just then, Franco emerged, telling Obrecht that he planned to go back to Port Charles and refuse radiation treatment. The police arrived shortly thereafter with a bunch of questions about Dr. Kirk, who had been found in an alley stabbed and apparently mugged.
The police asked Franco a bunch of questions, as he was the last person seen with Dr. Kirk, and Franco mentioned that Obrecht had said Dr. Kirk was going on assignment. Obrecht covered, saying that’s just what Dr. Kirk had told her.
Eventually, the police left, and Obrecht announced that she’s returning to Port Charles, but that she will want to keep a low profile and help Franco with his cognitive problems.
Franco left to go to the front desk of the hotel, and Obrecht told Scott that they were in this together now, indicating that she had some sort of plan. Scott seemed horrified.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) told Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) about Alexis driving her car off the road.
Olivia got a call and left the room, and Tracy made a crack about Ned and Alexis. Just then, Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) waked in, followed by Olivia who announced that Julian Jerome (William deVry) was dead.
In a moment alone, Tracy blasted Ned for sleeping with Alexis, and Ned was upset that his mother knew about that. Tracy cautioned Ned about running to help Alexis when his wife needed him at home.
Ultimately, Ned decided to stay and help Olivia as she dealt with Julian’s death, rather than go to bail out Alexis. Olivia noted that Julian’s death was going to hit Alexis hard.
Dante stepped out of the room and tried to call Dr. Kirk. In Geneva, Obrecht saw the incoming call on Dr. Kirk’s phone and declined it. “Don’t worry, Dante, your new handler is on her way,” Obrecht said to herself.
In a hotel room somewhere overseas, Jackie Templeton (Kim Delaney) talked to Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) via phone. Jackie wondered how Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) was doing since he was shot, and Robert provided updates on Finn and everyone else in Port Charles.
Jackie ended up disclosing her breakup with Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) to Robert, and Robert mentioned that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Finn’s wedding was next month. Jackie seemed upset by this.
At Anna’s house, Finn told Anna the whole story about how he first met Jackie, and how she and Gregory subsequently fell in love and got engaged. Finn recounted how he and Jackie slept together the night before her wedding to Gregory, and Anna did the math and wondered if Chase could be Finn’s son.
Finn said that he chose to accept Jackie’s word that Chase was Gregory’s son.
Finn said that he wholeheartedly believed that he wasn’t Chase’s father. “He’s my brother,” Finn said. Anna understood because of her feelings toward Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and the situation with Alex Devane Marick (Finola Hughes).
Anna thanked Finn for trusting her enough to tell her the truth, and Finn felt relieved.
At the Corinthos house, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) told Carly that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) disappeared and that there had been a bridge collapse. Jason said that the police and their people were searching the river, and Carly insisted that Jason take her there.
In the car, Jason told Carly the whole story about what happened with Julian and the bridge collapse. “Did Sonny surface?” Carly asked. Jason said no, and Carly noted that Sonny was a strong swimmer.
Soon, Jason and Carly arrived in New Jersey at the river bank. Jason said that they needed to search areas one at a time, and that there was a lot of ground to cover.
Carly worried that Sonny might be hurt, but Jason said that Sonny didn’t look injured as he fell. Carly and Jason continued to search in the dark for any signs of Sonny.
