General Hospital Spoilers Update: Thursday, May 28 – Maxie’s Wardrobe Malfunction, Nathan’s Secret Plan – Jake Confronts Lying Hayden

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Thursday, May 28, teases that some Nurses Ball excitement’s ahead in an episode that was originally shown on May 1, 2015. Some classic GH drama’s coming up according to General Hospital spoilers, so let’s dive in and see what’s in store.

In Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) dressing room, she’s upset since she can’t find anything to wear. Felix DuBois (Marc Anthony Samuel) steps up to select a gorgeous gown for Lucy and convince her to chill out. As Donny Sheldon kicks of the red-carpet event, he interviews Ned Ashton (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) as his first guests.

Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) uses work as an excuse in his phone call to Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes), which means he can skip the actual red carpet walk and watch with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

Britt and Brad have a blast doing their usual roasting and laughing. When Lucas appears on camera, he explains to the reporter that he’s not a couple with Felix and actually loves somebody else.

Brad smiles over Lucas’ comments before dashing off to make it before the opening act. Meanwhile, Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) feels he looks too revolting for red carpet pics.

He complains about his face being disfigured, but Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogn) suggests the kid looks tough. Spencer refuses to listen to Dante, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher).

After the adults are forced to leave without Spencer, he settles in for the festivities on TV. Spencer’s shocked to see Emma Scorpio-Drake (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) with Cameron Webber (Michael Leone), so he calls Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) for an explanation.

Joss brings Spencer up to speed on some recent drama with Cameron, which is the reason they’re not together anymore.

Later, Britt pops in and does her best to lift Spencer’s spirits. Spencer’s wallowing in self-pity as far as Britt’s concerned, so she wants him to cut it out. After getting a nudge from Britt, Spencer agrees to attend the Nurses Ball.

Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) checks on Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco), who’s looking pensive. Sam confesses that she hates not telling Julian Jerome (William deVry) about Olivia’s baby. Julian and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) pop up, so Patrick fibs that Sam was talking to him about Brad’s late arrival.

Brad makes it before the opening number, which he fully expects Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) to interfere with. Lucas doubts it, but Brad bets him that Liesl’s got a surprise looming. Liesl ends up hijacking the end of the opening act with a rousing rendition of 99 Red Balloons by Nena – complete with balloon popping.

There’s tension between Jake Doe (Billy Miller) and Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) in the elevator, where Hayden wants to defend her decision to deceive Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).

Jake doesn’t want to talk about it right now, but he’s transfixed by beautiful Liz when he sees her. After Liz looks over at Jake, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) hastily moves Liz, Cameron and Emma into the ballroom.

Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) is serving as Lucy’s date for the evening, although they’re not an item now. Lucy’s sorry things didn’t pan out for Duke and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), who shows up with Kyle Sloane (Rob Derringer).

Next, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) makes a splash by attending with Ellie Trout (Emily Wilson). An irritated Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) wants to corner them for an explanation.

Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) advises against going over there, but Maxie refuses to let him stop her. Spinelli manages to do it inadvertently when he steps on the hem of her gown. Maxie’s tripping fiasco leads to a wardrobe malfunction as the halter of her dress slips.

When Nathan asks if Maxie’s OK, she admits she’s glad she had something on under her gown for the evening! Maxie would’ve truly mortified if she hadn’t. The topic of Nathan attending with Ellie comes up, but Maxie and Spinelli get a reminder about Nathan and Ellie’s single status. Once Nathan’s alone with Ellie, he’s excited about the plan seemingly paying off.

Meanwhile, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) puts a plot in motion, which is sure to ruin Ric and make this a performance to remember. Carly pretends to make peace with Ric, who cautiously accepts the olive branch she’s offering.

After getting a small ring box from Ric, Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) delivers it to Liz’s table. It’s for Liz to open after Ric starts singing. Once Ric begins his marriage-related song, Liz is moved by the pictures of them on the screen in the background.

Ric notices Liz’s smile turn to a frown, so he looks back and sees a wedding pic of Jake and Hayden. Carly struts out to make an introduction. She’s soon joined by Pete, who reveals that Ric gave him money to pose as Jake before his face was reconstructed. Pete also points the finger at Hayden, who was recruited as part of Ric’s scheme to split up Liz and Jake.

Ric is livid over Carly publicly humiliating him like this, but she thinks it’s so typical of Ric to take the blame off himself. Once Liz stomps off, Ric goes after her to try and salvage things. He wants Liz to see that she belongs with him instead of Jake. Liz is done with Ric and doesn’t want to see him ever again.

Carly’s pleased with herself for exposing Ric and showing Hayden’s true colors to Jake. She’s sorry it had to happen like this, but she’s glad Jake’s aware of the fraud. Jake ends up confronting Hayden, who confesses that everything but her name had been a lie. Hayden feels like Jake should save his rage for the person who’s truly at fault.

After Carly tells Ric and Hayden to get out of the hotel, she offers to have Hayden’s stuff packed and thrown out on the curb. Jake hands Carly the wedding ring at Carly’s request, so she hurls it Hayden and tells her to pawn it. Ric and Hayden head out while Carly reflects on the situation. She always knew Jake would never marry a woman like that.

Back with Liz, Nikolas tells her not to track down Jake. Liz tries to go anyway, so Nikolas insists that Jake is still married…since he’s actually Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)! While Liz takes in that bombshell, Brad agrees to get on stage and finish Ric’s act. Felix rounds up some backup dancers for Brad so he can liven up the number.

Lucas looks proud after Brad wraps up the marriage-related tune. Lucy expresses her gratitude to Brad before noting that there was no proposal pressure. Brad asks, “Why not?” Lucas is shocked along with the crowd as Brad pops the question.
